  1. Official 6G Shift knob pics thread

The lighter the knob, the more force you need to apply in order to move to the next gear. With a notchy transmission like the mt82, the increased weight helps to counter some of that feeling. I know ill eventually ill end up buying a 600-700g+ knob for my 15. The boomba is a great knob over...
  2. Pulls on the highway

Im still not sold the 15 is slower, I think people had the idea that it would be no doubt faster and when it actually turns out to be a drivers race, they think its slow. Slow because it didnt meet their expectation of being faster as it is the next gen. Of course, if you talk about whos faster...
  3. Pulls on the highway

I wish I wasnt scared to powershift the mt82, plus when you hit fuel cut on this car its like someone pulled the damn e-stop lol. I need a wot box or something, one that comes with a real 2 step too. The launch control is just a wheel hop party on the street, I get way better launches without it
  4. MT-82 fluid change

Id make sure the bolts are torqued to spec and then wipe it clean and check in a few days. I had some slight discoloration at that spot on mine and I only had 1000miles when I changed my fluid. Yours is much more noticeable but thats also a low spot on the trans so it could just be the natural...
  5. MT-82 fluid change

Breaking things at the track and getting them replaced under warranty can be very tricky, you seem confident that it wont be an issue. I really hope that if it did happen you'll get your stuff fixed under warranty but I wouldn't assume it. Ford knows very well that some people beat the crap out...
  6. Pulls on the highway

Yeah thats where id shift. Think about it, just becaue power drops off doesnt mean its less power than youd have if you shift. Depending on gear the rpm drop between gears is like 1200-2000rpm. That why I was kinda using the 1500rpm as the example. HP at 5000 = 365whp HP at 5500 = 395whp HP at...
  7. MT-82 fluid change

If you have a good dealership relationship it shouldn't matter what fluid is in there anyway, unless their sending the unit back to ford intact. I went with amsoil because I know its a better fluid and its gonna offer better protection at higher temps than the stock stuff. The Mt82 wasnt...
  8. Oil change question

The entire length of the pinch weld is actually really strong on these 15s, I usually place my floor jack a little to the side of the jacking point and place the jack stand on the correct spot. The pinch weld doesnt look like it gets any thinner on either side immediately after the proper...
  9. Pulls on the highway

You want to shift at whatever rpm range is gonna give you the most average power. Lets say for example that when you shift into the next gear the rpms will fall 1500rpm. Shifting at 6500, youll fall to 5000 and shifting at 7000, youll fall to 5500. Obviously by looking at the graph you can...
  10. Why All Of The Hate For Chrome?

The only people I know that like emblems and trim better with the stock chrome are usually older. I think its a generation type thing lol
  11. Oil Pressure Dropped off and LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON

15 at idle isnt good but its ok, yes it is lower than it should be but it most likely wouldn't hurt anything. A general rule of thumb is that you need at least 10psi for every 1000rpm to be safe. So at least 20psi at 2000, 40psi at 4000 etc. Most cars have decently more than that tho So since...
  12. Oil change question

Ramps will work just fine, pretty much everyone that changes their own oil is either using jack stands or ramps when they change it. Ill be real jelly if anyone actually has a lift at their house lol
  13. Pulls on the highway

If you have a copy of the dyno post it and we could easily explain where the best shifting spot would be. But its gonna be around 7000 at least, if your shifting sooner then your shifting too early especially since you have longtubes and a tune already as even a stock 15 should probably be...
  14. Fogs on with high beam?

How come everyone just attacked the question instead of letting someone answer it? Id honestly like to have my foglights on with the highbeams as well. Not because I plan on flying through fog with them but simply for the fact that its an annoyance when switching between high/low beams at night...
  15. MT-82 fluid change

Your warranty on the trans would be voided for track racing as quickly as it would be for changing the fluid. Theyll try to stick it to you if they can, but if you know what your doing then neither should be an issue if the time ever did come ;)
  16. MyColor Dash Lights during daytime on Premium

This is an extremely simple mod but just thought Id share in case one did not realize that it could be done. The purpose of this is to allow the gauges to light up in your selected mycolor whether it is day time or night time (my color option is normally disabled during daylight hours). On any...
  17. Manual Trans. Thud when shifting

Im really starting to believe that its the way we drive the car. I adjusted my driving habits and never get the thud anymore. When driving normally I kind of shift in a two part motion now, as in gently apply enough force to just pop out of gear and then put it into next gear, instead of going...
  18. Official 6G Shift knob pics thread

Any issues with the reverse lockout? It seems most of the heavier universal knobs have to sit up higher or the reverse lockout will hit it
  19. Official 6G Shift knob pics thread

I honestly cant imagine using a lighter knob than stock and enjoying it. Im actually curious to know when some 500+ gram knobs that aren't massive are coming out. A heavier knob is a no brainer imo, especially with the mt82. When I first started looking around I wondered why I couldn't find any...
  20. Official 6G Shift knob pics thread

If you dont use loctite you probably cant get it on tight and have the gear pattern line up. You can use a washer but youd need to get one with the right thickness(to get gear pattern to line up) and one that fits over the threads but doesnt fall all the way down to the base.. one that stops...
