Thanks. I will reply if I get some resolution. Yes I use either 95 or 98 and it does it on both. They're rated for 94 minimum here in Australia.

Good point. However we know that it is 100% a knocking issue, as also confirmed by the head Ford tech. However, I will try this out of curiosity anyway. Thanks for the suggestion.

Haven't tried that yet as 98 octane is already pretty high and don't want to be tied to having to buy octane booster with every tank of gas 😔

Have you tried putting in a fuel additive to reduce carbon? I was wondering if maybe adding a catch can might help? I've read pros and cons on the dozens of forum posts about them, but in theory they should help reduce carbon build up, if indeed this is my issue...
