Ya I have to agree, I'm 31 and my fiance is 23, neither of us would ever consider anything in Lincoln's current lineup.
I do however think something S550 based might change that though -- the modern look of fusion & new mustang pulled us in. Just don't see the same fresh look to the Lincolns...
I think its a much bigger game changer than the last new chassis. I didn't even consider Mustangs at all, whatsoever until I saw this reveal and now I'm checking the Mustang forum everyday. I used to frequent BMW forums and only consider BMWs for a performance car.
I think it'll do at least as...
It needs to get lower than the Fusion's, too. I was shocked when I found the Fusion couldn't get anywhere near as low as many cars I'm used to driving. I'm 5'9 and like to hold the wheel at bottom frequently while cruising with hands resting on knees, great for long drives.
Having DCT would really make Mustangs a BMW killer. I was wondering the same thing you are, although the MT will always have a special place in our hearts.
Amen! I love Ford's current approach.
Yup, plus the outgoing model is always incentive laden in the final year. I'm happy about timing--my fusion lease ends aug 2015. With the V8 and IRS I can dump my beloved BMW too :eyebulge:
Hmmm yeah the missing toggle switches might be the dealbreaker you are right after looking at pics again overall its a big difference! Current techpackage is $1200, I guess I can stomach it. Hope it isn't a useless touchscreen though.
And Wow! to the above image.
Sure, I'm talking about driver legroom though. Fusion console is close in relation to gas pedal, then left leg is miles from the door--car drives like a big car but isn't quite as comfortable as it could be. I'm worried they'll do the same here.
Still baffled what they are doing with all...
How is it so big overall?
I have an E39 BMW, has a V8 4.4L engine in it and seats 5, 4 very comfortably and is only .6 inches longer. Then the trunk has plenty of room. Where is all this space going? Huge trunk? Giant engine bay doesn't make sense, E39 M5 has 4.9L engine. I don't get how this...
It would be unusual if it increased over 5%
Base 32445
Premium 36750
But 3.5% is more likely
$31982
$36225
They like to round, and same price diff $31900, $36K
They're definitely different cars, but they both share some of the same new Ford design language. Mainly I'm talking about the sculpted hood lines and the sharply slanted lights with single circle light. It's really just from front angles though, not from the side or back at all.
I think you...
Bummer the Recaro's don't look that cool. Obviously functionally better for fast driving, but there are cooler Recaro's out there. Still an awesome car though.
Haha, a great response I agree.
Will be interesting to see how chevy responds -- the new vette has a more modern/euro look, but the current Camaro is really boxy. I bet they'll have to go further from the current Camaro paradigm than Ford did (which is OK)!
Sounds like Ford knows what to...
I've been a BMW driver for years and this new GT really has my eye. I'll have to drive the GT first, but on paper if this thing can track faster than a Boss and E92 M3 starting around 32.5K there's no comparison -- GT wins.
I thought the LSD was speculated as only an upgrade you'd pay for on the GT?? If standard than WOW, even on a base GT??! but I honestly only started looking at Mustangs last night, haven't liked for at least 30 yrs, so I'm new to this.
Agree with BMWdad that steering feel in the new cars is...
Definitely shopping this vs. 2 and 4 series BMW. They might lose some customers to this car, I was shocked that this nice looking car now with IRS will have a nice 5L V8 w/ over 420HP! All for starting probably $32,500 or so. WOW!
