just the basic engine mods OPG/CG. Twin Precision 6062, log style manifolds, 50mm TurboSmart gates, 4'' Plazmaman cooler
that's about on the money, might be showing 50rwhp down, takes about 1000-1050hp @ the engine for a 4100lb car to go 148-149mph we know a 'Glide roughly chews about 25%...
we tried to give it a go one pass but it didn't hold it, just kicked out. footbrake launch about 4-5psi seemed way to go. had 3 passes, because of the cold air was seeing almost a psi more boost
1st - 9.35 very happy as was over a tenth slower in 60'
2nd - kicked out off the line, tried 7psi...
new PB for the Mustang, got 3 passes in, 1st pass it backed up the 9.33 with a 9.35, it was much colder at this track was seeing almost an extra psi of boost, even though the 60' was down a tenth and a half still managed to run a good time. next pass tried the transbrake off the line, it stepped...
new PB for the Mustang, ran a 9.26 down at Heathcote last weekend.
the NAC boys are now going to do a supercharged Mustang, will be using the factory 6R80 6-speed auto, seeing as noone else is really doing a turbo, they want to fight fire with fire. look for it to be out within the next month...
thanks guys.
the motor is stock with OPG/CG it's just hitting 14.5-15psi at the strip. there's a 9.15-9.19 in it i reckon if we get the 60' down and leave with a bit more boost. being a PowerGlide it has a 1.8 first gear, which i'd probably like a bit more if it had a TH400 or leaving in 2nd on...
we finally got to take the car out the other night for the first time to test out the TT setup @ Sydney Dragway, we put a 'Glide in (manual was bought, we had a 'Glide laying around so we thought why not :headbang:), she knocked out [email protected] (track she saw 14.5-15.2psi) weighed 4114lbs...
RaceStar 18x5 front, 17x9.5 rear, 305/45/17, 20psi cold
we did the same tyre conversion on the workshops NA VF2 SSV it makes 312rwkw went from an 11.42@120 with factory size wheels to 11.25@122 with the lighter tyre package. you might gain a tenth with an NA car but won't see a huge gain with...
thanks guys
still a bit in it, we needed to get a base and take it from there, confident with a 6-7psi launch we can get it into the 1.3's, the converter is on point, extremely happy with it.
the boys from Northmead Auto Centre got a chance to take the car out for it's first trip to Sydney Dragway to test out there twin turbo kit, built and tuned in-house. first pass a nice 3psi launch went 1.58 60', 2nd pass 5psi 1.45 60', 9.3@148mph. the car was seeing 14-15psi at the track, it's...
you always will hear conflicting, yet there's others proving great results to every choice :) end of the day it doesn't matter what box you choose you can make either work extremely well. the right converter and good power management is make or break with a turbo car.
