  1. You need camber plates or bolts after dropping 1 inch

If I am not mistaken I probably have some toe out now....no measurements taken yet. What is a good toe setting with 2 deg camber?
  2. You need camber plates or bolts after dropping 1 inch

I just thought I would share my findings for others regarding the need for an alignment and camber plates or bolts after lowering. I did a little research and asking before installing the Steeda progressive springs and there was mixed advice about whether camber plates were required (pretty...
  3. 10 Speed Auto or 6 Speed Manual, what say you?

I did much the same and chose auto. It depends what you are looking for. The only better thing would be a dual clutch box.
  4. Indy 500 tires in the cold?

there is my problem :) Been buying tires for 40 years too. Tire technology has obviously changed drastically. A few degrees above freezing isn't winter up here :) I am just talking about a rare journey out when its still below 10C/50 F in the am. I am a big believer in using winter tires for...
  5. Indy 500 tires in the cold?

I've got the stock 18" AS tires and wheels but I would rather not swap just for early spring or late fall use. I already have 4 cars to swap winter tires on and off of including my daughters. I almost pulled the trigger on the Michelin AS3 tires which I think might be the right decision. I...
  6. Indy 500 tires in the cold?

I'm undecided on going with the Indy 500 vs the Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+ tires. I realize one is an AS and one is not. There is a $500 difference in price so I am wondering if the Indy 500s will do. My driving is fair weather only (up north here) but I would like to get the car on the road...
  7. 2020 GT350 vs. 2018 GT3

A GT3 was at the top of my list at one time. In 2012 I did a few track laps in a brand new GT3 as a passenger with an experienced driver. The grip was unbelievable as were the brakes. You needed a harness. It was obvious I would never be a good enough driver to test the limits of that car...
  8. “Next Gen” Mustang Will be Electric (EV) Only Claims Autoline

With the battery technology out today you would have to go recharge after doing a burnout or a 1/4 mile run :) What about if you live in the cold north? I remember somebody talking about electric cars over 10 years ago and they said something that stuck with me....electric cars won't be...
  9. In this era of black wheels, any thoughts on silver wheels on iconic silver

So the answer is that silver, black, anthracite all work. Its personal preference :)
  10. Looking to get 19 or 20 inch wheels. Cons and pros

They can be. Even 285/35/20 tires are only 2% taller than the 235/50/18s.
  11. Looking to get 19 or 20 inch wheels. Cons and pros

Can't have everything. Stick with a 19 inch wheel.
  12. Decisions... Advice and suggestions needed

Well there is a ton of threads with pics on various wheel and tire sizes. Some people run 40 series too at leat with 19 inch wheels. Lowering the car can be as inexpensive as a set of springs if you are handy. Its far cheaper than a set of tires.
  13. Looking to get 19 or 20 inch wheels. Cons and pros

If you're running 35 series there is no difference. The sidewall height is the same.
  14. Decisions... Advice and suggestions needed

I'd look at 35 series tires and lowering the car. At least the is the direction I went.
  15. Pirelli to Michelin AS3s anyone

My stock 235/50/18s are fine for daily driving and highway just a little skinny :) The AS3 and DWS06 are ranked the highest in all the reviews I have come across.
  16. Impressive paintless dent repair

The tools aren't cheap and you need special lighting and most of all experience. I had a fluorescent light lense fall off and put a dent in my hood and wreck the Expel film. It will cost $350 to fix but at least I don't have to repaint the hood.
  17. Good Price

The problem is that the market for these is limited to people with a base car who like those wheels and don't want to spend $2k+ for something other than OEM wheels and tires. Maybe there is a lot of people in that category. If you like them anything under $1k for a set of a top rated tires...
  18. Save battery message

I got this message when running a new stereo with the engine off. I suspect that it monitors voltage levels and gives that warning even though the battery voltage is still quite high but I haven't researched it.
  19. Need New TPMS Set

I keep hearing the cheap ones are hit and miss. If they don't work you will have to pay more than the cost of the sensors to just to get them removed and replaced let alone the price of new sensors. Today I ordered some Huf sensors from TPMSDirect at $26 USD ea on sale and they had the silver...
  20. Lowering spring suggestions

I'm running Steeda progressives with their struts and shocks. Its great for dd duty if you can live with the drop.
