The FRS/BRZ RWD coupes were built for drifting.... they break-loose the rear end easily and throw-about really well...... Mustangs are a different breed altogether...they're designed and build with wider stance, wide grippy tires, better brakes, etc to handle high lateral G's (holding the road...
My wife and I will be going to the Cars&Coffee in Ft Worth in the A.M. then straight to the meet-up at 11:00 (for brunch at Esparza'a). See you all @noon.
The 2.3T or 6 'stang is a better value for a RWD/MT. My friend who has an FRS also confirmed this opinion...... The FRS is great for drifting-action at lower speeds and throwing it into curves, etc. (very nimble). HOWEVER.... this is not how the poster (HYRAX) wishes to drive. The Mustang is...
I've read about both variants for months now (before I made my decision to go Y-pipe + dual mufflers). Both approaches seem to be very similar in effect as well as sound (that is, resonator-delete with hi-flow muffler(s)); however, the dual Magnaflows may be a bit quieter off-throttle (like the...
Thanks for the photos. Our first (unofficial) meet-up went just as planned.... GREAT! The restaurant has a big private parking lot and is big enough inside as well (easily accommodated our group of 10 ). See everyone next week when we plan our Feb Fredricksburg/3-Sisters cruise.:cheers:
Dave, your resonator-delete (with Y-pipe welded-in) and the pair of Magaflows (with stainless double-wall 4" tips) works exactly as you stated above. I had mine done for me a local muffler shop (total cost a little over $420). I agree also it sounds better.... still near-stock idle and cruise...
The poll is quite definite....... there will be a DFW area M6G club, albeit, with informal membership and participation. I propose we decide to meet in a centrally-located eatery for a breakfast or lunch on a Sat in Jan. Last year due to the confusion of who is available and when, we have not...
Don't make the mistake of thinking a choice of a 2.3T is only based on "affordability". I personally chose the turbo because my wife and I like using it as a DD as well as for long but really comfortable and fun road trips (classic "GT" behavior). If the 2016 Shelby GT350 had been available...
The poll results are now in.....and the winner is (with 78%):
DFW M6G CLUB with informal membership
I think this choice properly represents the wishes of the majority for our area. Thank you all for participating in the polling. Our last cruise (to Tyler) went very well and we enjoyed each...
Thanks for the input..... over the next week or so we should have a good idea what most of us want to do with our club. For me, it's just great to see each of our 'stangs in person, have a lunch together, ride, cruise or whatever.
Our new (DFW) sub-forum has worked out well; however, it may be time to actually establish a more structured club for local (DFW area) meet-ups, cruises and get-togethers. Polling should help decide this. :)
There are too many people who like to buy (I mean really pay for) certain "luxury" badges. These are people who don't love motorsports or even cars in general....they're just posers. BMW has been producing more and more "ordinary" cars in the past 10 years, making extra profit along the way...
