  1. What did you do to your S550 Mustang today?!

Larger mass air meter section with a sealed design increases airflow over stock while retaining stock/low IATs. I'm sure the gains over tune only vs tune with this CIA are marginal, but in theory with the CAI it will make more power. Couldn't really drive hard today due to rain and cold, but I...
  2. What did you do to your S550 Mustang today?!

Checked battery terminals for the first time after reading several posts on corrosion issues. No issues here.
  3. Any 6spd 18+ running Yukon 4.11 or 4.56?

I've got a 17 with 3.73, and sometimes I think it would be better with 3.55s. 1st gear is so short. I guess 3.90 if that fits or 3.73 would be best in the 18+ 6MT. Just a thought. I do love the gearing once your above 40 mph though. 3rd gear is where it's at!!
  4. Owners under 40 years old.

I don't qualify for this thread in the current Mustang I have. However, this applies... 1984 Mustang, then 1969 Mustang, then 1995 Mustang, then 2005 Mustang. Now 2017. Loved them all and still some. The 84 was the only one that wasn't a V8. It was still a fun car. There is a lot of...
  5. 3” vs 2.5” cat back exhaust

3" here and I've been asked if it was Borla cause it sounds so refined and smooth. Cold starts are loud at 6:30 am, but neighbors don't complain. 2 minutes and it calms down. Exhaust won't give you more power that you will be able to tell, but it will give you the sound you want. Hard to...
  6. So, my step-son wants to buy a Mustang.

I'm trying to keep him on the brakes, because he should shop for a month before deciding what exact car to buy. There will be another Mustang pop up in a couple of weeks I'm sure. Patience is key here, and that is what I'm trying to show him. I gave it some thought, and the plastic peel on...
  7. So, my step-son wants to buy a Mustang.

Don't tempt me. LOL Besides, I love my car!! I'm not selling mine for him to wreck it. And just to be clear, this is all on him and his money. He has a suburban that he is willing to trade in. He still hasn't checked on insurance. Didn't have time cause of work.
  8. So, my step-son wants to buy a Mustang.

Thanks for all the comments guys. I can't recall everyone's individual questions, but I'll try to give as much detail as possible. First off he will be 21 in a couple of weeks. He is financially responsible and has a great job making great money for his age. Hell, for anyone's age around...
  9. So, my step-son wants to buy a Mustang.

He’s got a 2017 GT base model manual six speed in Magnetic picked out. Dealer asking $21,500, and it has almost 60 k miles with one owner. Do you guys think this is a good deal? He really wants a Mustang. I guess because he loves mine.
  10. weight lossplan?

Things I've done. Not much weight off, but every bit counts. -22 lbs exhaust -5 lbs air pump -3.4 lbs engine cover -4.6 lbs trunk carpet cover -4 lbs hood liner 39 lbs total weight saved Wheels will be next for me to save about another 25 - 30 lbs. I imagine the wheels...
  11. Tip for Cluch Spring replacement

Getting the old spring out without damaging the perch was definitely harder than installing the Steeda spring on the perch. Good idea with the zip ties. That actually could be helpful during stock removal and not mar up the stock spring.
  12. Removed the clutch assist spring, unsure if its better.

I have the Steeda spring installed, and it's been great for over 2 years. The stock feel was mushy, and even though the feel isn't perfect, the Steeda spring makes the pedal feel more linear with engagement at a predictable point. I've also read about not having a spring installed could do...
  13. Brand new PP2 woes.

2k miles and that much wear on the tire? You drive that, sir. Anyway, a good replacement can be found here --->https://lmr.com/products/mustang-sve-sp2-wheels-15-19 Lighter wheels and all new tires. That's what I would do. Claim on your insurance and that will offset some of the cost.
  14. BEST mod for under $100

I have the same shift knob. I love it. I vote shift knob, because it is a driver assist mod. Much like the clutch pedal, the knob is in constant contact with the driver. It all boils down to preference, but I have no regrets swapping the knob over a year ago. The stock knob got hot or cold...
  15. Smoke on start up

Clean the inner tailpipes with a cloth of some kind, and make sure the cloth wipes clean before you are done. Just an inch or so deep is all she needs. You are doing this so you can clean it again. Then warm it up, and rev it. Depends on how you drive the car as to how you should rev, but I...
