One interesting point that may be worth mentioning is the final drive ratio of a 3.15/Auto car (Box C6) vs a 3.55/Manual car (Box G15). A 3.15:1 Auto car should probably do dyno pulls in 4th.
I see a lot of people asking about which gears to get and how the auto and manual transmissions stack up with those gears. So, here's a spreadsheet I made, comparing factory gear ratios with auto and manual transmissions. It also includes maximum theoretical speed in each gear. It does not...
I wonder if changing 783-01-01 0000 to 1000 would enable subwoofer signal output and remote turn-on in the DSP? Which are pins 1,2 and 9 in the Gray 16 pin connector.
Is anyone else getting a burning electronics smell when they start their car? It appears to be coming from the air conditioning vents. It lasts anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes and then goes away until the car sits again.
It just started recently, but I'm not sure where to begin...
I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to integrate a media hub from a Focus into our cars, giving us video inputs. I need Focus wiring diagrams for the media hub and APIM. I know the video amplifier is built into the media hub on those units, but I'm not sure the programming is present in...
Here is the link to the translated Russian page.
Essentially you need to enter the APIM diagnostic mode (Press Eject and FF) and write down this info: APIM ESN, VIN#, Assembly#, H/W#, CCPU#.
Then email the guy in Russia: Give him the above info and tell him you want a license file to add...
Not sure about SYNC3, you could always send the Russian an email and find out. They seem like a knowledgeable person.
My SD slot is in my center compartment. The only things I don't have are the RCAs. I've got an 1/8"/3.5mm mini jack instead. I'm trying to find out if I can buy the...
Yeah, I paid the guy in Moscow through PayPal and within 12hrs I had the license file. I also ordered an A7 US/Canada Maps SD card from eBay. So, along with the OBDLink MX, the car now has navigation and it works perfect.
BTW, the OBLink MX Bluetooth works with a Windows 10 MacBook...
So, I went through the process on the other site and I got my navigation license file. I set 7D0-01-02 to 04xx xxxx xxxx like the instructions said and my screen now says "Insert Nav SD Card". I get my A7 SD card tomorrow.
I enabled brights/fogs and turn/fogs.
I disabled the double chirp...
I looked at the as-built data from a US GT Premium with Nav and that bit is a 4.
So, mine is 00xx xxxx xxxx and the other is 04xx xxxx xxxx
I'm guessing that it's a region code.
I know it's been mentioned before, but all you need to do is go onto any major website that has cars for sale, look up a car that has the correct year and options you want and copy the VIN number. Then download the as-built data for that car.
I did the Ford service access for $22 for three days. I downloaded and was looking at the wiring for the active noise control. Manual said theres a mic in the overhead console and under the headliner in the rear on the coupe. So, I pulled my overhead console and the mic doesn't exist on my GT.
I read on another forum if you change 7D0-01-02 first bit 00 to 04 you could enable navigation on SYNC2 systems. Then all you need is the A7 SD card. Anyone try this?
For example:
07D0-01-02 0008 0000 8062
to
07D0-01-02 0408 0000 8066
My car has remote start. I just hope that that memory block represents the same feature on our cars. (And it works...)
That's true! But, apparently, there are some of those around. And someone always has a camera handy to prove it, unfortunately. I don't want to be like 80 and rollin'...
