I buy the boostane by the 5 gallon drum and meth is cheap so I end up with 98 oct under 6lbs of boost and well over 100 oct above 6lbs of boost for about $7 a gallon. Much cheaper than any place that usually sells 100+ oct out here but thanks for the tip. Might try them out if I'm in the area at...
Pulling up at light that just went red, I go to neutral for a while. Pulling up at a light that's been red and about to change I'm probably in gear. Long lights, leave it in neutral until it's close to changing. If you can't see things around you quick enough to get it in gear and make a move...
How many miles did you drive after the tune change? It can take longer but all my monitors go green with out any issue. Just takes more miles than the stock tune
You'll get used to the throttle manipulation needed on a boosted manual. Just takes time. I can drive mine like a granny with my wife in the car, open it up enough to make my 5yr old daughter squeal and hit 160+ when I'm alone feeling squirley.
I've been using 14-16oz of boostane per tank for the last 58,000 miles boosted over 3.5ish years. O2s are stock with 106,500 miles on them. (Never cleaned) Every other sensor is stock with the same mileage. Spark plugs do get cleaned at 10k miles and replaced at 20k miles. Direct injectors are...
My r2s preform like dog shit once they get under 4/32s. Once they hit 2/32s I turn them into burnout tires until their gone. That's about all their good for at that point.
I ran my last set from 2/32s down to here with 4-5 great smoke shows.
No i still wouldn't worry. These engines are loud naturally. Injectors, DI pump, vct components. There's lots of consistent noises in the coyote. The odd ball is the BBQ tick which isn't consistent. Sometimes it only ticks very occasionally. Some tick more. Good oil will help and lots of people...
Twins here. I love them and I'd go the same route if I boosted my car again but I definitely don't think I'd call them the most reliable. If you do all your own work it's not bad but I'd hate to have this set up if I was paying someone to work on my car.
I'd go hawk 5.0 pads if it was me. I've used them for years. Tried powerstop on the most recent change and they suck in comparison. Braking power isn't as good and they are noisy. The only issue with the hawk pads is they stop so good if your not easy on the brake rolling to a stop sign you will...
