That’s a trick question. Driving mode depends on driving conditions.
1) Cold engine- Shifter in S. I don’t like how D lugs the cold motor.
2) My commute- Shifter in S. Track mode and exhaust quiet. I drive 4-miles through twisted mountain roads to get to work and prefer the Track mode...
My guess is either knock retard or wheel spin. Given Lund's experience; its probably wheel spin. I am surprised Lund hasn’t gotten a hub dyno yet.
Cheers,
No idea. These two part numbers in the back of the book didn't have a price. They just had “coming 1Q 2020” instead. The Gen 2 Aluminators were listed at $11,000.
Cheers,
Read through the 2020 Ford Performance catalog.
1) New Gen 3 Aluminator engines available.
Do they use the Predator Block?
Do they use direct injection?
2) No 2018+ Power Packs. Looks like they will never be available.
Cheers,
The Gen 3 has 12mm head studs and 4 knock sensors. The 4 knock sensors allow the ECU to perform individual cylinder retard. Also the Gen 3 has better harmonic damper and better oil pan baffling.
Cheers,
I’m running AS3+ now till spring. Once the morning temps get above 50 degrees; I’m gonna try the 2019 GT350 spec Sport Cup2s in the rear. Just have to make sure they are the “FP” spec tires to get the “streetable” compound.
Cheers,
That looks like a “circlip”. Maybe it fell out of one of the vertical links? Might want to ask BMR Tech?
I don’t have mine yet. They won’t arrive until next week.
Cheers,
I don’t have any proofs. That’s why I typed rumors.
My unsubstantiated understanding is that Ford had growing pains with the plasma-transferred wire arc (PTWA) process. They initially tried to compensate for it using select fit pistons. Supposedly that isn’t an issue for the 2020 engines...
Ford does include additives and a special filter that allows them to circulate in new cars. That’s why the sounds show up after the first oil change. Who would buy a car that is ticking? The modern day equivalent of saw dust is carbon black. Ford used to sell it over the counter in a product...
Yes, it will reduce the hit of 1->2 shift and this prevents the second gear loss of traction. The drag mode hit still occurs for all the other shifts after you push the shifter into D. It’s the best way I have found to run street tires at the drag strip.
Cheers,
Just throwing this out there for anyone with traction loss in 1 & 2. For guys not running drag tires.
1) Put shifter in S.
2) Enable drag mode.
3) Hold traction control switch up until AdvanceTrack is off.
4) Stall converter to ~1600 RPM
5) When next to last yellow goes off: Step off brake...
I just swapped summer tires to AS3+. You can find my comments in the AS3+ review thread.
I don’t drive hard on the streets. But, have noticed the AS3+ will chirp on upshifts. The PSS tires just spun. I’m going to the drag strip Wednesday night. So far, I’m not expecting much difference in...
The track overlay feature is ok. This is a lateral G plot. I prefer an aggregated G plot; but, don’t have one handy. I have lots to learn and currently working on turning in harder and earlier.
Cheers,
I just put AS3+ In factory sizes on my PP wheels. They stick right out of the driveway in 30 degree temps and are quiet. I ran 285/35 PS4S front and 305/35 rear PSS tires this summer on 20lb wheels. The stock wheels are 30lbs. The car feels sluggish accelerating and braking with the heavy...
I don’t know if it’s cost effective to buy the all the front suspension components; just to get brakes. But, it would be awesome if it fit.
If it fits; you might be able to run a square wheel/tire setup using the factory rear wheel offsets.
I would like to run 19x10.5” ET56 wheels and the...
