Yea turns out ford used 1 of the 2 types of plastic that don't bond permenently with the epoxy i used. It's held up so far but I already see the cracks forming. I've driven my car hard the last 2 days and it's held up [for the most part] but i'm not sure in 2 months they'll still be connected. I...
If anyone is still trying to make a custom tube to match their new 80mm throttle body and still want the PCV and vacuum line connections the company UPR sells plug and play metal connectors in the ~16mm and ~10mm sizes that are found on the stock intake pipe. I ordered both and will try them out...
yes that happens exactly! I never noticed the a/f go all the way to 9.0:1 with my stock set up, although i bet it was because i wasn't looking for it. just don't want my engine blowing up from a throttle body and intake pipe :D Thanks Fordguys550!
Hey guys I'm having a little problem and was wondering if anyone had any advice or experienced this as well. During WOT when the revs are around 6k and I take my foot off the gas abruptly the a/f ration dips as low as 9.0:1 for a split second then steadies around 13:1 or 12.5:1
This seems kind...
Got my throttle body and intake tube on today and it feels and sounds awesome! Definitely feel the difference in the entire rpm range. Throttle response is way better as well. Glad I did this!
At low speeds it's not very noticible but passing on the highway *feels* easier to me, not sure about if it's actually doing much but it does seem like it adds an improvement. No water in the air box, this was a big fear of mine but I checked after the first hard rain I drove in and the filter...
I tried putting a few up from my phone but they wont upload. I used a 2 step plastic bond I got from home depot. Says it's temperature stable from -40 to 280 degrees F though
Hey Fordguys550! I'm installing your pipe tomorrow along with the GT throttle body. I fused in the PCV and vaccume line in after sawing them off my intake haha. Fits like a charm! Everything is lined up and tomorrow I do the fin removal from the upper intake manifold and the sanding then I will...
Just got my shapeways spacer today, I ordered the $50 black plastic one and was wondering if anyone thinks it would be ok to not paint it with enamel. I have some high temp engine enamel but I SUCK at painting things, really badly.
I like my "old" 6speed auto in my V6 but i'm sure the new 10 speed will be a beast. its coming out party was on the new ZL1 (i think) which is pushing a lot of hp from the factory so i would assume it can handle a good amount of power. the trade off is it is way more complex having 10 gears so...
