  1. “We don’t have the tool...”

I've heard similar before - transmission repairs end up being: remove transmission from car - replace with a rebuilt transmission - a factory elsewhere will rebuild or scrap your old defective transmission. By this logic, I'm not surprised they don't have the tool.
  2. TWEETER KEEPS BLOWING ON SHAKER

I ended up changing my speakers earlier on. I am running Hertz Dieci components (and Hertz for the other speakers). I noticed a significant sound quality upgrade making the change. I would suggest getting the 3.5" for the doors as well to match. In a coupe, I think you get the best sound on...
  3. Grate in the center of the dash rattling

Just FYI, to remove that grate, you need to first remove the trim with the vents, then you can pull up the grate. It's easy to lose the retainer clips down there too, lol.
  4. Mustang or Corvette?

Even though I keep saying I'm planning on buying a C7 in about 4 years, I know there will be concessions. I still need to drive one, and that might sway me in either direction. For the time being, if the Mustang had a targa top, I would immediately put that in my garage. I would imagine a...
  5. That's all, folks

I did the opposite when I bought the Mustang, I sold the Sportage turbo and said I'd never buy an SUV again, cars only.
  6. Paint chips, scratches, swirls oh my

I'm convinced that a ceramic coating does help some with daily marring. I notice very few scratches and no swirls in my paint since I always have a coating on it - it's currently at the 1 year mark on this current application. I also wash with 2 buckets and all that good stuff to help prevent...
  7. Photograph of the Month - May

I need to get out and start taking more photos...
  8. More Base - Change speakers or add Sub

Do you have a spare tire? Or are you running that goop and air compressor? Or nothing? I have roadside assistance (AMA/CAA) and one of those reamer/plug kits in the center console. Because I have nothing in the spare tire well, I put a shallow mount Pioneer subwoofer in there along with an...
  9. Showstopper Wear & Tear?

I have the redline interior and it has held up well. I usually clean the seats every 2-3 months to remove jean dye transfer with a leather cleaner, then finish with a leather protectant/moisturizer (currently Autoglym). IMO, they still look near-new 3 years later.
  10. Noise from Transmission that comes up through shifter

You don't hear it as much once the rest of the car starts rattling all over, lol. I did notice this sound around 1k miles, it probably did it from new, but I never noticed since I always had the radio on before that. Mine sounds like a scratching or hissing sound in first and sometimes second.
  11. Racing simulators

VR is immersive, but how do you guys feel about the resolution? I find I struggle even with familiar cars and tracks (Miata, etc on a track like Laguna Seca). I feel like it's both the resolution and the lack of dynamic range that is affecting me the most. But I'm also running Riftcat on Gear VR...
  12. Anyone else keeping their S550 at/near stock?

I was going to leave mine stock. Signature states otherwise.
  13. How long do you plan on keeping your Mustang for?

I was planning on keeping mine until the C7 Vette becomes "affordable" in the used market, probably 5 years from now. From that point, I hope to buy the C7 in cash, sell the Mustang and use that money for a winter car. Of course I've been seeing a lot of complaints on the C7 - torque tube...
  14. 2018 Mustang standard gauges

I spy with my little eye a redline that starts at 7250...
  15. Not thrilled with the way this thing channels water

I thought this was going to be along the lines of how your car channels what seems to be gallons of water all over the doors, rear bumper, 3/4 panel after washing and thoroughly drying your car (even blowing). Seems to be an infinite supply of residual water to ruin your just cleaned car as soon...
  16. Repainted My Impact Blue Mustang Oxford White

I feel my collection of die-cast has gotten too large as I seem to have taken up every bit of horizontal surface in my man cave with them...
  17. Lining intake boxes with heat resistant material

I've been noticing very high AIT when sitting idle at the drag strip, long traffic lights, etc. I know the temps usually come down once moving, but for the strip I wonder if that hinders the first bit of my run or not. That being said, I'm running the Mishimoto intake which has a metal "heat...
  18. Mechanics desperately search for my cutout switch

To be honest, through the initial watch of the whole video, I was actually amused and not mad at the whole cutout situation, especially because they couldn't find the switch lol. It's when I got to the end when they unplugged the dashcam that I was annoyed. There is absolutely no good reason for...
  19. How long do OEM shocks & struts last?

To my understanding, aftermarket springs will work with factory shocks/struts, but an aftermarket set of shocks and struts which are designed to work with those particular springs would be *better*. As you're already at 48K miles, I'd say might as well change them. You're only going to...
  20. Bad Customer Experience

Luckily I've never had a buying experience this bad. The worst I've had which I remember is the sales manager giving me sass because I ended up deciding I didn't want the particular car they were offering, and that I "wasted the sales rep's time." Hey, I was there for 3 hours because they took...
