I went with BC Forged from PK. Square set up, MP4S, TPMS, mounted/ balanced, ceramic coated, lugs, and spacers shipped for under $5k.
I use my CF wheels for the track with Camber / Caster plates and FP race alignment. Wanted a square set up for the street so I can rotate (due to the...
I use my CF wheels for the track and have BC Forged wheels and MP4S tires for the street. The Sport Cup 2s make me cringe on the street as they kick up rocks like crazy.
It's a huge difference in "feel" compared to the CF wheels and street tires. Less darty, more muted and softer turn in. I...
Wake Forest is a week before the Morrisville C&C. I'd recommend going early...or risk not getting a parking spot.
Yes, have a 2017 1 of 1 being delivered from FL, should have it on the 23rd!
Congrats on the new GT350!
I see you are in Raleigh? You'll have to make it out to some of the Cars & Coffee events in the area. Pretty good turn out over the last few weekends in Morrisville and Wake Forest.
(I can feel your pain on waiting. I'm currently waiting to get my Dodge delivered...
Funny thing is the Recaros seem to be too aggressive for the street and they aren't supportive enough for the track.
I'm 6' and 240+ and I'm too wide, but they aren't terribly uncomfortable. I think they're starting to break in.
Once you get it on track, you'll be surprised at the limits of the car... I know I was.
Track mode let's you get crazy, but it will prevent you from balling up your car. I've gone into a corner too hot and the nannies caught me.
I'd recommend a Ford Performance track alignment or...
There is a ton of grip with the Cup 2's and I've ran in track mode at NCCAR and VIR. You can feel them lose traction and it's pretty predictable.
Keep it in track mode and it will let you get loose, plow or over steer, but will catch you if things get too crazy. Very confidence inspiring!
If you are interested in selling them seperate, I would be interested in the Cup 2's.
(PM me as I'm not on the site regularly)
I know you'd prefer to sell as a package, but throwing out there.
Haha!
I've seen his videos and he does know his stuff! Agree 110% on the bicycle seat creeper. [Griots garage sells an awesome rolling seat for $80 that is my go to]
Speculation on my part, but I don't see the GT500 being a track day special like the R is... I'm assuming it will be more of a straight line / drag car / GT cruiser?
Even if it were a track car (road coarse) , I don't see me dumping my GT350 R for one (at least right now). I'm still adding...
I totally agree... I'm not a huge Ford follower, the R is only my 3rd Ford (2nd Mustang) but there is something about it that feels special. Enjoyable at the speed limit OR wide open at the track. It's definitely a driver's car and although the straight line performance isn't a world beater...
Started on the ZL1 rear tow hook today... Rear belly pan and lower fascia needed to be removed.
Do yourself a favor and get a friend to help push down on the tabs to be able to pull off the rear lower fascia more easily.
(Invest in some good drill bits. The rear crash bar ate through 4 new...
