Yep, even the 6R80 took a lot of skill to drive. I sold mine, since it was too difficult and got a manual. I couldn't figure out if I should put it in drive, sport mode or use the paddle shifters......very tough.

Here I was thinking you had the MT82 and lost a gear, which wouldn't be a shock....but nope. The 6R80 is solid, even with power adders......very much a fluke that it failed on you. How many miles did you have?

I'd keep the V6 and get the Vette for sure. The V6 gets good gas mileage and is a great daily driver. The biggest reason I traded in my V6 for a GT, was because I hated the automatic transmission...

Performance package does not effect the engine....only suspension and tire bits. I do agree with the OP. EcoBoost is a great engine (Focus RS)...just seems off in the Mustang though. They should have added DI to the 3.7 and called it a day.

I don't think the rev hang on this car is because of emissions. It holds the revs perfectly for the next gear....not too high or low. The only actual rev hang I notice, is from the 1st to 2nd shift.

This. The new automatic will be far better and shift as fast as a dual clutch. The current automatic is a dog....

Sounds like it shifts pretty slow.....compared to the 8 speed in the Camaro.

If I was in the market, it would be Camaro hands down. Camaro has more torque, lighter/better chassis and a far better trans, on top of everything else mentioned above

BG oil and MGW have completely changed this transmission for me. Absolutely flawless. Now my gripe is this stupid clutch.

Insurance on an EcoBoost won't be much cheaper ($10 for me). It won't save much gas, if you're in boost often and also have to use 91. Also a 27K loaded EcoBoost will be around the same monthly payment.... The amount of money lost on the trade for and EcoBoost would be at least 3-5 years of...

Yes, that's the whole point of a turbo....a lot of torque at lower RPMs. For the 5.0 it's NA and DOHC, so it needs to rev higher to get power out. When you do get the power out....it's far more than the EcoBoost and will pull like a train. My Cruze 1.4 turbo feels quicker, when lightly hitting...

Rev the engine anytime you want. Sounds badass with an exhaust. Autos and exhaust....are disgusting. Can't rev too high or lockouts happen and odd noises. I love the Mustang, but would go Camaro manual, instead of an auto Mustang.

Nah, in my opinion ours looks better. For the money lost I could put in the T56 or almost whipple it.
