  1. Traction Control not available?

I agree but there is a misunderstanding. When in track mode, not only is TC deactivated but the drive by wire works much better - more responsive. What occurs is track mode is deactivated during the run causing the throttle to go wonky. This has only occurred when I start the run in second...
  2. Traction Control not available?

During my A/X event yesterday, I experimented with leaving in second gear. This was a short coarse (fast cars in the mid 38s - my best was a low 41). Start was a sharp right into a two-cone slalom and then into a left-hand sweeper. Shifting into second proved to be a challenge for me given...
  3. FS or budget STP

FWIW, not a fan of the Koni SAs. Put a set on our '01 Prelude and have regretted it ever since. This was a GC Kit with Eibachs. Front is set full stiff and as highs adjustment goes; and we still bottom out. I'd wait for Bilsteins to come out or move up to STs or KWs. I've run four events...
  4. What did you do to your S550 Mustang today?!

Removed the resonator and replaced with an x-pipe; stock mufflers.
  5. FYI, Ground-Control offerings for the S550

Does anyone know the motion ratios of both the S550's front and rear suspensions? Would be easier to calculate the appropriate wheel rates to obtain matched springs.
  6. Hankooks done well!

Funny - mine has the same readings. Try resetting the tool.
  7. Manual Transmission PSA

Been shifting mine just fine with and without the clutch - up and down. No problems, odd sounds, bumps, etc. Like the trans; much better than my Cobra's 3650.
  8. M14x1.5 3-3.5" stud options

The link is for an M14 x 2.5" or 1" over stock. Unless Summit has the wrong PN.
  9. M14x1.5 3-3.5" stud options

Summit has some ARP 1" longer than stock: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/arp-100-7733
  10. JDM style wheels on S550

I have a set of 18x11 CCWs on my 86 Resto Mod. Not many of these around. However, they are pricey.
  11. Sport + mode?

While auto-crossing two weeks ago, I tried out the various settings. Frankly, the "Track" setting worked the best. Less intrusive TC; better throttle response (in any other setting the throttle was very lazy and disconnected to inputs). What I can't seem to figure out is to how to reset the...
  12. Official S550 Mustang Owners Registry

2016 Magnetic GT Premium, PP, Recaros. Picked up ooa 6-26-2016.
  13. Post your MPG's

Been getting right at 23.6 on a mixed 82 mile commute. Car has a touch over 1600 miles. No mods.
  14. Coilover issue

Assuming Ford is still using bushings that are bonded to the sleeve, the design creates more wheel rate (i.e., spring rate) as the arm articulates. If you mounted the new springs without losening the a-arm mounts, you just added more spring rate with the lowering springs as the a-arms moved up...
  15. Lower control arm replacement question

Unless there is a clear indication that the ball joints are worn/failed, why are you wanting to change them? Since the Fox days, Ford says ball joints are not serviceable and one must replace the whole a-arm component. With that said, if the BJ hasn't been previously replaced, you might be...
  16. Any downside to removing convertible braces?

On every Ford Vert I've owned, the engineers feel it's necessary to add some additional bracing. If you supplement that bracing, fine. But don't remove it. Most supplementals explain how to retain the original while upgrading to the new components.
  17. Brakes Touchy?

I failed to bed-in the brakes on the new GT. Did an A/X TnT last Sunday and brake smell was pretty evident. Today on the commute (first time out since Sunday), brakes still have that initial grab so I'm not accustomed yet. Coming from a new edge Cobra and the 'ol 86 with StopTechs. Would...
  18. Thoughts on StopTech Pads?

Big fan of Hawk HPS for the street. Easy on rotors; little dusting; good initial bite; easy to modulate. Can easily do A/X duty and some HPDE depending on skill level.
  19. If you want rotors.... rotorpros is doing deals!

StopTech is a Centric company. I've also used RotorPros for years. Their zinc wash holds up really well. I buy slotted, never drilled. They do very well on a DD and sometime track and A/X car. Best prices I have found for large slotted, zinc washed rotors.
