Haven’t got the time to take out the heads.
I need to see if I need a short or a long block.
If it is a short block, it would be wise to buy a sleeved one.
Let’s see....
Another one bites the dust!
Whipple Stage 2 , 3.250 6rib ATI
Although torqued to spec from that old picture it seems that it wasn’t properly seated
Didn’t check interference tolerance
Oh Boy!
At the end the tune was timing limited to 18.5
Recieved a tune revision with the correct 22.5 degrees of timing
Swaped to a 3.250” pulley and in the first pass at the track sheared my driveshaft (1piece 3.5” aluminum) from 2nd to 3rd.
I was expecting the stock axle shafts to fail at...
Not really in terms of power.
I’m looking for ET, but I started at 11.46@123 and dropped two pulley steps and got the 11.09@128 then switch to PBD and got 10.60@133 and now have to test that MS109 tune to find out. I didn’t want to keep adding boost to make more power on the Whipple tune.
If you...
Not sure about the M6. These seems to perform better
But for the 6R80 it is day and night because of the torque transfer in shifts
The results I posted was on a pump gas tune everything else equal
Now I went yesterday to the dyno with an MS109 revision and recover my 23 horses + added 53 on top.
Yep!
I’m thinking the same
I think that I got a tune for pump instead of 104
I already got a revision for MS109 but if you look at the specs MS109 and Sunoco GT plus are very similar
I will try it and hope to be surprised on my data log and ET
We don’t have E85 pumps here.
In my case, I’m looking to reach 9’s (not my daily driver)
I’ll have to use C85 or equivalents if I switch.
But we are talking new fuel system ($2.5K) and switch between pump gas an Ethanol
My car is probably running a half second slower that it should be (3.375...
What about E85 vs race fuels? I'm using Sunoco GT plus (104 ) and I'm going to give MS109 a try.
Will E85 provide better results than non leaded race gas (Power/ ET) ?
Rob just sent me a revision for MS109
I’ll try it out
I have my 4C from the previous Mustang so I’ll send it to readjust
Also would need Vikings, spring and in the converter axles for sure
Thanks for the inputs!
The 2C for sure will help me out.
As for the fuel I’m running Sunoco GT360 Plus.
I tough it was similar to MS109
The biggest difference I can spot is the Oxygen content.
Do you think it will make a big difference?
According to Rob yes. The car was good but I was definitely expecting very low 10’s to high 9’ on a 3.375 and 104 gas
This was a tune revision that I recieved at the track.
The first pass was a 10.7
Summary
3.625 with 93 oct on Whipple tune
11.55@ 123 with 1.72- 60’
3.500 with 104 oct on Whipple tune
11.09@ 128 with 1.64 - 60’
Last Thursday
3.375 with 104 oct on PBD tune
10.65 @ 132 with 1.63 - 60’
Consistently 0.5-0.7 slower than what should be
This is on Salinas Speedway in...
