Very informative. I see the print date for my little manual thing is December 2019. I wonder if the change happened somewhere in there.
@kilobravo , when was your car built again/whatās the chassis number?
Thatās really interesting. My manual specifics the same neon green color as KBās. Iāll attach a photo of my manual. What chassis number is your car? Mine is 0717. Maybe they changed coolant types sometime during production?
Hey guys. I was doing my weekly fluid check on my GT500 and noticed coolant level is lower than recommended. Engine was cold, and car has about 1,300 miles on it.
I couldnāt find, see, or smell any leaks anywhere in or under the car. Anyone have theirs delivered from the factory low like this...
yeah I kinda goofed on this one actually. I rolled into the parking lot right as they were opening and there wasnāt a soul around. I stupidly figured I could scarf my food down in 15 minutes and be gone before it got busy. Then as I was eating, I was quickly reminded of how quickly In-N-Out...
Thanks for the info. Theyāre small enough that your average person wonāt notice. So even if itās not perfect, Iām ok with it. Anything is better than nothing.
So I had the paint chips looked at today by a guy who fixes stuff like that; no affiliation with Ford at all. He told me he thought it could be easily fixed by using the Motorcraft āLacquer Touch-Up Paint Penā. Anyone use this before? Results good or bad?
I picked it up for 13 bucks from the...
Definitely need to get you some more miles. Seattle to Orange County was 1,200 for me. So itāll be oil change, paint chip repair, paint protection for me and then I should be good to go
I definitely count my lucky stars every day that I own a GT500. The car is amazing! And itāll definitely not be a garage queen. Drive it, have fun, and fix stuff like this when it happens. Only way to do it. I was just hoping to go a little longer before I had to fix something, haha.
That is so unlucky, sorry to hear that. I had my ā19 GT/CS for a few days, and the detailer at my job offered to wash my car for me. Who was I to say no? Well he got the pressure washer too close to the side scoop and somehow took 1 square inch of paint off *face palm*
I was definitely tempted to do this. But I couldnāt pass up a company funded, fun break in drive since it was basically the same price as the enclosed trailer
Thanks for the kind words and stories everyone.
Like everyone said, it is just a car, and Iām glad Iām safe and all that. I think I would be more ok with it if the impact was in a more likely place, front bumper, hood, windshield, etc. Butt behind the drivers door? Haha.
Iām definitely going...
Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya punk?
Well I certainly donāt. Iām in the middle of bringing 1296 home to SoCal from Seattle. Been cruising the left lane the whole trip, but as I get into Sacramento area, have to go into the right lane to switch freeways. No sooner had I done this, super loud bang...
