  1. Proposed Solo Class STP(ony)

I guess that could have been worded better. The point I am trying to make..... Write letters in support of 11" for all cars in STP.
  2. Proposed Solo Class STP(ony)

Guys, write letters if you are even considering STP. I don't think we will get the same size tires as the solid axle cars but the 10" wheel limit is silly. Support 11" wheels for all cars in STP.
  3. SCCA F-Street Setup. What's Everyone Done so Far?

Yeah, that. I don't think 18s are the answer, despite the 200 dollar savings per set of tires. I went through 3 sets this year and that still isn't enough to make me want to look at skateboard wheels on my car or shift to 3rd more often.
  4. Base GT on road course?

The brakes are worth it by themselves. Really. I understand mid ohio can be hard on brakes, never been there, but we have run at Putnam, Gingerman, and PittRace all on stock pads without issue. Maybe that's because we are slow but we could burn up a set of XP12s at Gingerman in a day on the S197.
  5. SCCA F-Street Setup. What's Everyone Done so Far?

Edited the post to include strut inserts on Dave's car. So basically, as prepped as it could be given the parts availability. Really the only thing left for him is lighter wheels but that didn't seem to hurt Tom.
  6. SCCA F-Street Setup. What's Everyone Done so Far?

That is very likely. This past weekend the I tickled the rev limiter even on the smaller lot, data showed 60mph (gps DL1) so apparently if you get a run you can coast past the mathematical limit. Courses vary.....the need for 3rd gear will, too. Hope to see you at RT66, we'll be there for the...

If you are running AAS Talk to Chris Cox Do what he does Profit
  8. SCCA F-Street Setup. What's Everyone Done so Far?

285s won't keep you from needing 3rd. I have only needed 3rd 3 times all year, nationals and two events at Peru. You need to be flat footed, on the limiter for quite a while (over a second) before determining the shift is worth it on the next run.

One more year in FS for me. Is the sandbox down or is it just me?
  10. SCCA F-Street Setup. What's Everyone Done so Far?

Feighners S550. ****edited**** Koni strut inserts in the front, rear Konis, Strano rear bar, 285/275 RE71s on stock PP wheels. I think that's it. I'm more concerned about the 1LE on 305s next year than the BMWs.

  12. Proposed Solo Class STP(ony)

That would be enough to never question 3rd gear on 95% of the courses.
  13. Proposed Solo Class STP(ony)

Letter sent. Mostly asking for 11" wheels to be legal for the entire class. Oddly enough, the only other letters I have ever sent were in support of an STP class way back and asking to get the S197 moved to STU so we could have 11" wheels.
  14. RIDETECH coilovers are in the works!!

***unofficial*** Using your favorite rubber hammer, open up the ears a bit....just a bit, then install shocks and torque to spec.
  15. SCCA F-Street Setup. What's Everyone Done so Far?

Mike and Chris Cox are prototyping struts now. The rear stuff is pretty well dialed in. I know nothing of pricing and availability at this point. Finished struts should be on display at SEMA in the JRi's booth. If enough of you call Mike and tell him you want the stuff, we might get him to...
  16. SCCA F-Street Setup. What's Everyone Done so Far?

JRi from Maier, inc. Thanks, far from sorted and anyone that saw me at nationals will tell you I'm not much of a driver :) but it all worked pretty okay yesterday. Borla S type cat back, wish I had gone with the touring like I had on my S197, this is too raspy when outside the car.
  17. SCCA F-Street Setup. What's Everyone Done so Far?

Yep, TSSCC. New shocks were fantastic on the rear. I had too much cowbell in for the morning on Saturday and we were chasing the backend of the car. 1 less sweep of high speed and 5 clicks less low speed and the car settled down and was very driveable. If you watch the video above, the right...
  18. SCCA F-Street Setup. What's Everyone Done so Far?

Bmac, were you the one with Michigan plates??.....in CAM-C? Nice run! We were in the black FS, S550.
  19. SCCA F Street Wheels/Tires

What about 18s just on the rear? The resultant negative rake would take a little weight off the front and keep the investment lower as well......in theory.

I see bridgestones in that picture.
