I haven't tried the SP080, but I've tried enough spring combinations to tell the BMR Performance spring rates are spot on.
+1 vote for the BMR SP080.
Pair with some good shocks if you can afford.
For the sake of your spine I hope you got smooth roads in Chicago. I had yellows with Steeda Ultralites (significantly softer) and I deemed them too stiff (compression not adjustable on yellows). I sold them to a local mustang owner who does HPDEs at least once a month. She thought they were too...
Since the Koni yellows are fixed compression at such a firm level, you would have to increase spring rate and rebound damping quite a bit to create a critically damped and balanced suspension system. At which point your ride frequency would be too high for a daily driver.
This is of course...
I believe the RS-Pro model only comes in sport. Yes, the range of adjustment is very wide and it is adequate for pretty much any spring combo and driving scenario! The ride with stiffer springs (250/980) is head and shoulders above the Koni shocks (200/880 & 200/780 spring combos it tried) with...
This reminds me of some time I spent on the skidpad at a BMW CCA Car Control Clinic. They had a circular set of cones with 2 gates to pass through at 180* away from each other. I got the car in a steady state circle around the skidpad and the steering wheel was locked in position (the instructor...
I wouldn't do it. Definitely something like steeda sport springs or ultralite linear would be more up your alley.
I say this because I know there is a very drastic difference in ride quality between 780, 880, and 980 lb/in springs in the rear (having tried all three on high-quality shocks)...
Good idea. You absolutely won't regret money spent on shocks! I have these rear springs paired with my high dollar coilovers and the ride is lightyears better than softer spings with Konis.
Currently, the ride is so-so on the street. Its one of those things where on the way to work I feel...
What are you guys doing for pulling out your motor and installing the built motor? Are you commissioning a 2nd shop to do the job? What is the approx cost or #of shop hours involved? Is it something that is do-able at home with the right equipment?
I've had my 2015 EB PP since new and now it has 32k miles. Not motor issues except for the intercooler pipes were backing off and I was losing boost. This is all on the stock engine & tune though. Just make sure the pipe clamps are tight and you should be fine, along with regular maintenance.
I would agree with you that harshness comes from the rear. I'll try turning the rear rebound down. Currently at +3 compression and +6 rebound. I'm just afraid of being oversprung and underdamped. At this point I have a bunch of springs (4 sets) at my disposal it's just a matter of swapping in...
