Yes, since the forks are weak and the stock shifter is very loose in terms of its bushings, it allows for extra tension when shifting hard and causing the forks to break. The aftermarket shifters have better resistance when shifting hard, that way the forks don't take the extra load and...
I’m with you man! I feel exactly the same way, and this sucks even more now because my 2018 has developed the same tick at cold start. It’s already at the dealer so we’ll see what they say, but it’s made lose all confidence in Ford. As this is my second Mustang GT that had the tick. I just don’t...
Hey guys, just doing a quick and simple write up regarding the radar hardwire into the 2018 Mirror with rain sensor.
This is super simple.
1) remove plastic covers, you can do so by hand. It’s held on by clips.
2) remove mirror, it requires a T-20 screw.
3). Locate the wires where the mirror...
Ford will never admit to the problem, and if they do they would be losing hundreds of millions of dollars. I’m considering using liquimolly, as it helps prevent the tick and lubricates the motor. It helps for motors with tight clearance like the coyote.
Honestly that’s a great question! Mine happened at around 13k. I read that they have different shifts at the factory where they swap machines. I’m not sure how true that it is. Every motor is different though.
My reasoning is that once the motor breaks in, the parts eventually start changing position by fractions of a millimeter and settling in which then causes the noise to appear.
Hey Guys!
I wanted to provide some insight on where the ticking noise comes from exactly.
This occurred on my 2016 GT PP1 and I ended up getting a new motor after some back and forth with Ford. The tick originally started after my 2nd or 3rd mustang, and it was right after it also happened to...
