wow, this post has gone completely irrelevant... guys with blower 5.0s responding as well as n2o/turbo 4 cyl guys. NEITHER of those setups tells me ANYTHING about my situation. Props to yall, seriously ( i have been low 1.4s in previous cars, its a blast). but spraying off the line gives you way...
nothing to lose at all, i plan to try that next time out, may also try inducing some wheel spin also because it sure doesnt FEEL like its spinning (may datalog also).
thanks markmurphie for the link, it sure does LOOK like it might be spinning a little ways out.
This was the first time out...
here is an interesting quote:
"When you dump the clutch with a manual transmission, a dead-hook will shake the tires or bog down the motor. A slight amount of controlled spin is preferable, where the right amount of wheel speed and traction allows the car to accelerate rapidly while going...
I agree, seems totally sluggish. Thats why i posted this topic. I bought this car as is, so have no before/after IM to compare...
Maybe i need to be researching gt350 bottom end loss more
i agree, it sounds rediculous... all of my racing was with manual trans so i know what to do with those (1.4 60' on an 11.1 pass). if you dead hooked the car would bog, it was common to try to wrap the tires a rotation or two to keep the car from bogging and get it moving. Autos are different...
thanks, so i will have to see whats going on then. i am working to upload a video where i stalled 1200 then stomped it and its clear there was no wheel spin.
i have had multiple 1.5 60' cars and one that went 1.4, not my first rodeo. people watching the car said NO wheelspin. i know you are used to people who dont race getting on here and talking but im not that guy. the car seemed to bog on the line a little too (another indication of dead hooking)...
was the part where the car is DEAD HOOKING overlooked?? you want to run as much pressure as you can while still hooking, you only drop psi if you arent hooking as hard as you can...
was looking to see what other people are getting at this power level with stock stall, thats all the info im...
zombie stomping it LOL!!!
i literally tried it all. "zombie stomping" all the way to 1500rpm stomping. 1000-1500 were the 1.95, the higher 2.00 was from zombie stomping.
mine seem to be lacking and now im wondering if its something with the car or if thats just all it has in it (find it had to believe).
i made almost 10 passes today and EVERY single one DEAD HOOKED at was 1.95-1.98. i was on nittos 555rs at 20psi. i know they arent the best, but it was dead...
i just wasnt sure if there was any adjustment in the LCA (in other words, is it possible to reinstall in a different position than taken apart). im used to live axle where lca was a fixed component (might be the same with irs, thats kind of what im asking i guess)
