Any suggestions for light wheels that provide proper clearance? I searched and couldn't find a single thread on 18s for the GT350.
Proper offset recommendations?
Thanks!
Well, the GT350 is better than close enough, it is superior to the GT from a handling perspective by a significant margin. She is still a naturally aspirated brute that requires a trained hand to really throw.
Coming from the front-wheel drive centered world, the GT350 is obviously a completely different animal. I came from a very forgiving platform in the Mitsubishi Evo IX MR. I could drift in canyons without a concern that I couldn't escape by applying throttle...I'm a bit more respectful of the...
The GT350 is certainly considered a valued collector. You receive a owner package that gives you the engine coded crank replica. There is a break in that whole relationship. Value is unquestionably diminished (perhaps not from a dealer's trade in perspective)...That said, I got the car to flog...
They just got my engine installed. Took about a month total turn around.
How do they do the engine to chassis link in the case of a replacement? You'd think they would have a process in place to retain that connection.
Bearing failure was the diagnosis I was given for mine (similar symptoms). I'm not convinced that the oil pump didn't factor in to the failure. Few details were given.
I put my emblazoned logo on a product, I own the product. Underneath the "Hand - Built with PRIDE UAW" placard I see no disclaimer stating "unless shit goes sideways." You want to own it, then you own it. Shitty labor is a very real thing.
My word
So what are the human elements doing besides perfectly doing their jobs with absolutely no errors? On lunch brake? Are they expecting the robots to do the QC too?
Possibly true. Dropping the oil pan would be the first thing I'd do. I do know Ford told them not to split it open.
Got a quote on the hood at $3300 (hood/paint/stripes/clear bra)...
If Ford went the direction of every man makes his own contract as a laborer, we'd have a better product for a cheaper price. Every time...No doubt about it.
Weakest link is the builders. The inconsistency, yet consistency, of the blown engines points that direction. If it was componentry alone, we would see massive runs of consistent failures. We don't see that. We see a myriad of different causes. From bearings, to oil pumps...The human variable is...
Doubt shirt color or engine orientation factored into either engineering or assembly. I try to stay within the confines of common-sense.
The word from the tech was that Ford wanted the block returned in its decedent form. So un-cracked.
Thanks! Lets hope the magnetic field stays static...:)
Update: Tech calls and says the car will be in my hands by Friday or Monday. Hell, impressive turn around even if next Friday. Let the beating commence.
