I live outside of Portland, OR, but much of my work is in Seattle. It is about 175 miles each way - so 3 hours on a good day. Friday evening, in the rain, holiday weekend.... not a good day.
Luckily, I am hourly - and my overtime rate is ridiculous! :-)
Part of what annoys me about the bluetooth thing is that the wife's Focus had the same problem for the first 2 years or so. Completely unusable at freeway speeds. They finally came out with a Sync update sometime last winter and it works perfectly now, so I know they can do it. There seems to be...
Had a pretty good run today. Filled up a block from the house and jumped onto the freeway almost immediately. Set the cruise on 65 and drove 220 miles. 27.5 mpg indicated, the hand calculation when I fill up in the morning will probably be around 25.9.
Not bad, for a GT with 3.55 gears and...
I noticed on the way to a meeting today that I have hit 500 hours of drive time, since picking my car up on 11/25/2014. I have managed to not ever reset the Trip 2 display, so I have cumulative data from day one.
I feel like this would be a good opportunity to share my long term impressions...
There, I fixed that for you.
I did a side-by-side test comparing Waze to a dash mounted Garmin Nuvi 2555LMT back in May while on vacation. I drove my wife's Focus from just outside of Portland, OR to Reno, Phoenix, El Paso, Carlsbad NM, Flagstaff, Grand Canyon, NE Nevada, and diagonally back...
I have no way of knowing what your tax/tag/title costs would be, so it is pretty hard to figure out the door costs for you. However, X-Plan for that car, assuming that you don't want Triple Yellow or Ruby Red, is $38,063 The dealer is limited to $100 in "Documentation fees", but X-Plan *can* be...
It seems to be every Saturday morning, starting at 8:00 or so, rain or shine - though obviously there is a better turn out for shine.
It is in the north end of the Best Buy parking lot, basically right up against Airport way.
I have gone a few times, and had a pretty good time. I tend to...
You do realize that the TSB does not cover the GTPP, right? It's for the EcoBoost PP and the non-PP GT. Those 2 cars have the same brakes.
To summarize:
V6, Non-PP EcoBoost = same brakes
EcoBoost, Non-PP GT = same brakes
GT PP = unique brakes
The title of the TSB is poorly written...
Better is pretty subjective, and depends a lot on where you are and what you use it for.
I have Nav in my Mustang, but I don't use it very often because I have a windshield mounted Garmin. I travel a lot for business, and I can throw the Garmin into my carry-on bag and use it in the rental...
Seriously - it is the for the GT without Performance Pack *or* the EcoBoost with Performance Pack.
There are 3 kinds of brakes:
V6 and non PP EcoBoost
GT and EcoBoost PP
GT PP
There is only one option which includes a GT *and* an EcoBoost.
The GT PP has different brakes than all...
It is both pads and rotors, but I have read that the pads are the same part number as the old ones.
I have not noticed a difference in braking ability.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
Discussion: the action or process of talking about something, typically in order to reach a decision or to exchange ideas
By its very definition, "discussion" involves exchanging ideas. To exchange ideas you must be...
You don't like the stitching. I get it.
So, buy something else. Why is this hard?
There are hundreds of makes and models of cars on the market. Find one that suits you. This one clearly doesn't.
Maybe it's just me, but I am having trouble understanding how "fake" vs "real" stitching...
You and me both, Jimmy! Except we didn't get snow this year (well, there was that one time I had to drive through a mountain pass in Eastern Washington when it was 2 weeks old...)
I forget you are in the area. My son is dating a girl over in Ridgefield now, so I am driving over there occasionally now.
We should get together sometime!

2 Different things - BLIS or Blind Spot Information System only flashes the LEDs on your mirrors. No sound from that.
The Cross Traffic Alert system beeps when you are in reverse and there is something approaching from either side - useful when backing out of parking spots when parked next to a...
....Did a little figuring, and calculated that I have had the car 171 days, which works out to an average of a little over 70 miles for every single day that I have owned it.
Subtract from that the 85 days during that time where I didn't drive it at all (parked at airport, etc)....
That...
I don't understand this statement.
How does "being meticulous" and "noticing a lot of small imperfections" equate to "a huge quality control issue"?
For what it's worth, my car is probably not perfect. I honestly haven't looked at it that closely. My wife's not perfect either, but I don't...
