I've already got all the parts, new O2 sensors, Stainless Works Cats, etc, just looking for tips on how to get it all apart because I'm sure it's gonna be a pain after all the heating and cooling, driving in rain, etc.
So I don't have an S550 but I think this could still be a valid question. Has anyone had an aftermarket LTH catless setup and decided to go back to catalytic converters? I have a 2011 GT and have stainless works LT with catless X-pipe for about 5 years and 25-30k miles. I want to put catalytic...
The idea behind the 10 speed is to always be able to stay in the center of the power band when it is needed. As you increase the number of forward gears in the transmission you essentially get closer and closer to having a CVT. The engine runs more efficiently and you get more of the “meat” of...
So, based on the thread title, is the implication that the 10A shifts incorrectly with the factory tune?
I have the 10A in my F-150, and my opinion is that it shifts perfectly fine, skip shifts and all.
But as they say, to each their own.
Umm, hermaphrodites are real.
And why does a transmission have to be defined by a binary definition? (Can ONLY be auto or manual?) You cannot SERIOUSLY be likening a transmission to human gender. It's a terrible analogy. Not because of any human rights/liberal/equality reasons, but simply...
Wow, I guess the gender of people and transmissions are similar enough to be analogous?:crazy::crazy:
So then, is a CVT an automatic or a manual?
I'm not a power train designer, but it would seem plausible/logical that an electric assist would in fact reduce the amount of power the engine had to put out, therefore using less fuel. And what makes you think the average GT500 owner wouldn't spend most of their time cruising around the speed...
Why not? As long as they're supplemental motors to a V8, not replacing a V8, I think it would be a win-win. Less stops at the pump and more torque at low rpms
Maybe you're just a hypochondriac?! Haha
But seriously, I can't hear a thing. Maybe you have become so disenchanted with the Gen III Coyote after your previous experience you are just looking for/expecting there to be an issue.
Take it to a local car shop (not a dealer) and just ask to have...
I like the OP's approach. The tech didn't drive it any harder than he would have so it's not really that big of a deal, however I do believe it shows a bit of a lack of respect, simply due to the fact that the tech is driving the car when it is not necessary but simply because he wants to...
Awesome, good to hear. It is not uncommon to see body fitment issues creating paint chips. Body fit/margins are probably my biggest pet peeve and, IMO, is one of the biggest design areas in which Ford lacks good quality control across their entire line up.
I checked the warranty history on it... it's not pretty.
However, I do not want to give out any details because I do not believe my employer (FOMOCO) would respond positively to me doing so. I value my job and do not want to jeopardize it. I'm sure one of the others that live close by, or...
