According to the linked thread, Shaun @AED says there should be no need for an updated tune when putting cats back on. But I was looking for verification especially since the post was from 2012. I did not know if anything had changed since then (which I assume it has)...
Yea, I generally agree with you. I have not yet installed the cats, and if I have to I will update the tune. The $400 for the new tune/tuner is less than a new set of cats anyways (I think I "stole" them at $370 for the pair, normally are a minimum of $430, specifically I am referring to...
Has anyone gone catless, had it tuned, and then put cats back on without a tune update?
I currently have LT's and an offroad x-pipe and wanted to put high flow cats on for sound attenuation (car is too damn loud). I do not have the handheld tuner used on the car (long story) and I do not want...
Let me start by saying that I have owned 6 mustang, and all of them had a v8, and nothing replaces the feel and sound of a v8.
While not necessarily my #1 engine (likely be #2 on the list though), the 2.7 EB is an excellent motor. I currently have an edge sport and an F-150 with the 2.7 and...
Subbed!
Hopefully the negativity stays away from the thread, the way I took it is you were never asking anyone's permission, you were simply allowing us to follow along on this journey with you, and I appreciate that. Good luck!
With the way rapid prototyping with 3d printed materials has exponentially advanced in recent years, model changeover/refresh isn't nearly as costly as it once was, so long as the same tooling can be carried over into the refresh. I think KIA is refreshing every 1.5 to 2 years... or at least...
Maybe it was designed for the 2020 GT500 and the 2019 GT350 used it first to help spread development costs.
I don't actually have any true insight... this is just a guess
Ah, ok, I misunderstood. I do understand why you're frustrated about the lack of performance packages with the auto. I cannot understand why they will not put the 2 together either.
I'm confused, I thought Ford announced an upgraded converter for the A10. Is there something else you were expecting? The 10R80 was a MAJOR upgrade in 2018 and now for 2021 they are upgrading it again. Certainly you were not expecting the GT500 DCT, that would make the car cost even more than it...
I'm skeptical but do you think it's possible with head work, new cams, and reworking a 3 year old intake? I definitely feel like it's too good to be true, but who knows
That's fair, but there is potential they have already hit a break even point with all of the engineering and production costs associated with S550 and may not need to sell another limited edition car at such a high price point. Maybe I am being hopeful or naive...
