This.
MRLS is very expensive, and not financially feasible for a mag to do a single car test at a top-tier track. The only time you'll see the mags rent out the top tier tracks (MRLS, VIR, etc.) is for their major annual comparisons (PCOTY, Lightning Lap, etc.)
It wasn't an official statement, I wouldn't look too hard into it, he and I were just talking about the car. Street car meaning it has a tag on it and you can drive it on the street. Consider that he has driven everything under the sun, including Porsche GT3 Cup cars, etc., and while this car is...
....had to build up the suspense!
Yeah, he loved it, more than the Z/28 (which he has previously raved about), and said it's the best handling street car he's ever driven.
I can already tell you what Randy Pobst thinks of the car for that comparison... he was at our NCM Motorsports Park event a few weeks ago and we chatted about it.
Yeah, the Pilot Sport Cup 2 is not great in the rain at all, but the Super Sports are phenomenal. For the Floridians, I'd probably park it under the overpass next to the motorcycle guys when the PM storm rolls through on the PSC2's :)
With that fixed piece over the top of the caliper, you'll have to lift the caliper off the rotor (still should only be two bolts going up vertically through the caliper).
What's the sales tax for cars in Oregon? That would be a determining factor. Here in GA I'd pay about 3,300 in taxes (plus dealer fees, title/registration, etc.) and then on top of a $1k markup, I'd be right at $5k over MSRP.... and I don't see that happening private party for a non-R.
The Track Tour cars had OEM pads and fluid, which are plenty capable of track use. From what I've been told the OEM fluid is a DOT 4, and similar to something like the AP / Motul performance fluid.
Prior to the Sebring Track Tour, Ford brought some of the cars over to our track event on the...
Hey Ben, off-topic question; can the 599XX cars be driven outside a Corse Clienti event? I've seen a few over the years listed for sale through private dealers and owners, but have always been curious about storage and operating requirements.
AG no-stripes is now my favorite. Didn't like AG from seeing it in photos and on the configurator, but in person in looks awesome.
I think the lighter colors really show off the wider, bulging fenders and side-vent, and all of the other unique features of the front and rear facia.
I'm convinced that Ford is putting an emphasis on selling this car to drivers who already attend track days and are owners of other marques rather than trying to convince the die-hard Mustang owners group they should put this car on a road course. You will see a larger percentage of GT350/R...
Open invitation to one of our track events, where we can give you a ride along with one of our senior instructors' "puss" Boxster, and I am certain you'll change your mind.... :)
....And some of the other reasons they didn't run the full course.
16 is always a hot spot (driver's right inside wall where all the skid marks are) and 17 invites trail braking, which I'm sure 90% of the participants don't know how to properly execute.
I thought the way it was set up was the best possible way to get the most participants to experience the GT350 and GT350R.
First off, anyone that knows Sebring could tell that when they said the event was set up in Green Park, we were running the short course. Sure, we could have done one lap...
