  1. Millennial Theft Proofing my Mustang

I have only done it twice, (pulled the 50A fuse) staying overnight in places I did not trust. As for S550 hoods, I open mine all the time in hot weather at home to let the heat escape. The V6 does not have hood vents. Gas pressurized hood struts are worth the bucks.
  2. Millennial Theft Proofing my Mustang

True. Most cars are used for daily driving. So, the drivers want the auto. Some cars are only used for sport, pleasure, challenging road route driving, those drivers want a manual and are fewer. Today's Tremec TRxxxx Trans, Aluminum fly wheels, Carbon Fiber/Kevlar clutches, Alum drive shafts...
  3. Millennial Theft Proofing my Mustang

A cheap theft-proof is pull the Maxi 50 Amp starter motor fuse in the engine fuse box. Put it in your pocket. When you come back to your car-put it back. No tools required. Still worried, drill the junction out on a clean fuse, put that in when you are away. Then there is no missing fuse. If...
  4. Goodbye to Ford...2018 Mustang Gt ownership

I feel for Fastfwd. Guys that take pride in their car care about appearance and detail. That is downright ugly. Do not assume the door interior was handled any better. It was not a dealer, but a trusted repair shop, the owner (top mech that kept me as a customer) put his rookie on my Crown Vic...
  5. Challenger beats Mustang in sales.........

Attended a Saturday Evening Club Cruise last weekend. Five Challengers on display with the usual corvettes, 32 roadsters, mustangs, customs, classics, and rat rods. Anybody that wants a Challenger should have one. I will leave it at that.
  6. Challenger beats Mustang in sales.........

Not many buy a sport/performance car for the back seat. That said, I prefer the back seats in Mustangs over the back seat delete kits. They are nicely styled and look far better than the strip down delete kits plus there is a sound insulation benefit. While it is what I expected, Pypes Axle...
  7. Challenger beats Mustang in sales.........

My "sucks bumper to bumper comment" was about the car (Challenger) and no one posting here. Being a Mustang driver who looks like he likes what he drives, I draw my share of WOT Challengers blowing across my bow to demonstrate their HEMI hysterics. Who gives a F? The big body big HP conspicuous...
  8. Challenger beats Mustang in sales.........

This thread has turned in to a LOT OF LOVE FOR CHALLENGER fest. There is really nothing I like about Dodge Challengers. I think they suck from bumper to bumper. Everyone that wants one should have one. They deserve it.
  9. Because if you buy a sports car with an automatic, you deserve to sufferJasonCammisa , 2021

Visit TREMEC. 5, 6, and 7 speed manual trans in production + TKO, T56, T56 magnum, TKX 5 speed, and specialty truck manuals. Sport, off-road, and high torque truck use will always demand manual trans. Is the manual trans dead? See this...

Total agreement. The A6 has well placed and pronounced shift points, but not notchy. There is no hunting around. It amplifies the 3.7L V6 torque to perfection. What I get from a V8-manual with throttle I get from the V6-A6 with gears. [SCT tunning applied]. I have never won a drag race, I don't...
  11. Because if you buy a sports car with an automatic, you deserve to sufferJasonCammisa , 2021

Good point and likely true. The difference between auto and manual is the difference between fluid and friction coupling. Friction has immediate control and feel. I think that is why it is more interesting and fun to drive. Fluid has slip. But I would not want to live in an auto world without...

To each their own. Enjoy the flight. In the pic below the guy in the front seat drives a '19 GT350 and Jason Cammisa is in the back seat (the pilot in command seat)
  13. Because if you buy a sports car with an automatic, you deserve to sufferJasonCammisa , 2021

OK, back to the topic, a few musings: If you want to cut figure 8s in dirt or a golf course fairway you can't beat a clutch if you want to drift a corner here or there or other technical stuff, you can't beat a clutch if you love cylinder head back pressure pressing your torso into the seat...
  14. Because if you buy a sports car with an automatic, you deserve to sufferJasonCammisa , 2021

Is this Jason Cammisa's point? A manual Mustang is an amazing car to fly around in. If you had two hours to go fly, which plane would you choose?
  15. Because if you buy a sports car with an automatic, you deserve to sufferJasonCammisa , 2021

There you go trying to settle it. Can't you see we are busy being stupid!
  16. Because if you buy a sports car with an automatic, you deserve to sufferJasonCammisa , 2021

I read about a Boeing 747 pilot who spent $120K for a Boeing-Stearman open cockpit bi-plane. (early 1940's aircraft) Which one do you think is more amazing to fly around in? Talk of setting points with a match stick misses the point. Who says technology has not improved manual trans drive line...
  17. Because if you buy a sports car with an automatic, you deserve to sufferJasonCammisa , 2021

I did write drive what you like, like what you drive. Nobody tells you what to like. MT/AT I like them both. Why would AT fans care if there are MT drivers happy with their Centerforce clutch, Fidanza aluminum fly wheel, Coast aluminum drive shaft, FRPP 3.73 ring gear, and Detroit True Track...
  18. Because if you buy a sports car with an automatic, you deserve to sufferJasonCammisa , 2021

I think the paddle shifting auto is the right trans for the IRS higher tech up scale S550. I think the Tremec 3650 is more in tune with the solid axle old school S197. I have each as listed. My favorite= Old School. (modified drive line and suspension in the 07GT) Everything the 07GT does...
