Howdy Gents-
Got the Res Del installed and felt like one of Jerry's Kids trying to measure the damned cut point...I think I must have been dropped on my head a few times as a kid b/c the LTH instructions say to cut 2.25" aft of the shield clamp but this is waayyyyy short of where I ended up...
That's pretty spiffy. I have one of these https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=11975969&cc=0&pt=409&jsn=1208 and its the best 8 bucks I've spent for the garage but I think the siphon hose is too rigid to make the bend from the intake hole to the pool of oil.
what a great read. I am a long time Porsche owner/racer and Roundel M enthusiast. I find the 350 an M series on steroids. Cannot believe the brakes and the FPC sound is as sexy as they come. Put 1k pleasure miles on my 18 in the first 30 days of ownership and still feel like I woke up next to a...
hmmmm…my factory tank aft nipple routed the feed line directly over the forward/left allen of the oil sep tank. I don’t think I have the tank mounted incorrectly…see photo.
The Steeda tank aft nipple routes feed line nicely btwn intake line and allen.
I haven’t tried to drain it yet but it...
Yes, I have the FP oil sep. While it is a close fit, I believe it actually works out better than the factory tank b/c it required removal of the aft hose to get to the allen bolt to remove the top of the oil sep. With the Steeda tank, the line is offset so you can remove the allens w/o...
Swore I wouldn't do it...but alas, I confess that I am a weak man...had to highlight some of the engine goodies and absolutely punt that afterthought of a coolant overflow tank. Threw the blue in there to break up the abundance of black. Cousin Bob was booked so I thought I'd tackle this one...
Using different pad compounds can affect brake bias. I use Pagid yellows up front and Pagid blacks (a bit more bite) on the rear of my other sled to try to add more rear bias.
I should have been clearer on pad objectives being a streetable option. I run Pagids on the GT3 and they suck the hind teat around town when they’re cold and pretty much need a glowing rotor to have any semblance of bite. Unfamiliar with many of the compounds available for the 350 so just...
Concur on the higher speed efforts showing a greater delta btwn OEM and others. I wouldn’t track the Z26’s and don’t want to hit the ‘press to test’ at 140 here in SoCal…as my next thread post would probably be from county jail…
Relative fresh owner of an '18 here still smiling wider than a teenager in a brothel with a new credit card and a $5,000 limit. I was a bit dismayed by the HAZMAT cloud created by the OEM pads from merely backing out of the garage let alone doing any threshold braking while letting the ponies...
So I have performed a couple brake performance stops b/f and after replacing the OEM's with the Z26 on the front and rear. OEM stopped in 129' and the Z26's did it in 123'. Go figure.
As noted- yes and don't do it without the bolts (or stud kit) previously noted. I just got my bolts in the mail from Bolt Depot that will suffice for my occasional pad replacement since this car will not be a track rat (well....for now, anyways). Doing the fronts without the bolts leaves far too...
Yup- had no idea this topic would strum the exposed ganglia that warrants involvement in all things unnecessary. Or something like that lol.
In my first month and a thousand miles (bringing the total up to 18.6k), my garage mistress has consumed 2/3 of a quart. I'll call this 'fleet average'...
@ZXMustang I did happen on a thread with some throttle mapping but have not seen those. Thanks for adding that- what are the 'Sand vs Pedal Output' charts for? Would those be our Weather mode? And the next conclusion would be that Sport and Track both offer the same pedal % vs pedal position...
There are limited posts about any throttle mappers 'round these parts and wondering if anybody has had any hiccups with the SpeedForm Throttle Controller. I found some posts elsewhere but they were limited to the 5.0's vice the 5.2.
I put a Sprint Boost in my 996 GT-3 and it was a night and day...
Brilliant. Just did the fronts on mine and was somewhat surprised over the necessity to pull the studs just to replace pads. Gooned one of the calipers as it swung into the rotor  and this will prohibit that from ever happening again...
Somebody around these parts recently noted a key difference between his buddy's M4 Comp versus the visceral difference in the experience btwn a Mustang power plant vice the 'boring power' of the M4.
Sure, there are plenty of powerful cars out there that can put up a good fight, but in terms of...
If refilling after an oil change, the amount put it should be less than stated capacity due to the amount of oil that doesn't drain out. I would think that a 'full' mark on a batch of room temp oil would expand ~5% (half quart) after warming thus leading to an overfilled engine. YMMV...
Dammit. Just when I thought I had it all figured out. But how does the oil stay in when the folks down under are upside down? Ahhhh now I follow. Just hold the dipstick upside down and look at it in a mirror.
