  1. Vinyl Stripe Scratches/Swirl Marks

Makes perfect sense. Hmmm…I have PPF on the front quarter…just have a wrapper PPF the stripes. Problem solved! Thanks TonyNJ 👍
  2. Vinyl Stripe Scratches/Swirl Marks

Swing and a miss with product on hand and vinyl stripe swirl mark removal. I have a couple carnuba products that I really thought would fit the bill but came up short. Very little minimization of existing swirls. I also tried a couple of my spray waxes that profess the ability to mask swirls...
  3. Vinyl Stripe Scratches/Swirl Marks

 :crackup: and I thought it was only us Yanks who unleashed a horde of Karens...what nobody ever told us about the Covid vax is that it turned Cathys in Karens (apparently everywhere lol). My Detailed Image package should be arriving soon. Felt like Rodney Dangerfield in a Pro...
  4. Engine Bay Cleaning and Detailing

A leaf blower after a spirited drive on an already clean engine goes a long ways towards keeping the engine compartment decontaminated. Even the most minute oil leak won't allow this as the oils vaporize and end up everywhere which makes a great spot for stuff to cling to. At the end of the...
  5. Vinyl Stripe Scratches/Swirl Marks

DFB5.0 Thanks for the reply and info. Looks like I need to wade into your posting history and log a few points of college credit. One thing, though, can you please organize your cabinet into alphabetical order for the rest of us with CDO? (CDO is like OCD but the letters are in the correct order...
  6. I think I castrated my Shelby….and I’m not happy about it

Anybody batting 1.000 with an extensive mod list is as rare as a jack-alope mating with a chupacabra. We hope every swing puts it over the fence but at least you're not in 'no man's land' where reconnecting the Shelby's vas deferens is an impossible ask. I'll admit though that getting the...
  7. Vinyl Stripe Scratches/Swirl Marks

This appears to be a distant relative to P21S Paintwork Cleanser which I happen to also have in the cabinet. Any experience with the P21S as it compares to the Sonax? I like the Sonax product lineup though I don't have any experience with it. I'd like to rid the cabinet of the 50 or so...
  8. 3" SPTA ROB Pads- MF or Foam?

The BMW's I tinker with are early 2000's E46's. It seems like they used different clear products on the same manuf line. My Interlagos Blue ZCP was a nightmare while a same year Silver Gray was 'average' in terms of clear durability. Evidently airshow stunt pilot Sean Tucker got a black E46 M3...
  9. Vinyl Stripe Scratches/Swirl Marks

Thanks for the replies fellas. I'm not sure I'd wade into Griot's Plastic AIO on vinyl either by hand or with a buffer. That product appears to be applied to hard plastic vice the vinyl. Interesting. I would have thought the Sonax product would have been too abrasive. Thanks for that tipper...
  10. 3" SPTA ROB Pads- MF or Foam?

KB- thanks for the reply. I've used my Rupes at max rpm for years with no problems. Though I did once burn thru the clear on my M3 trying to remove a scratch courtesy of a nice little old lady and her damned purse with more tackle hanging off it than the lip of a Goth vocalist...I suspected the...
  11. GT350 on the Nürburgring driven by Misha Charoudin

Trying to get my head around exactly what you can get away with when you've disabled Traction Control but not Stability Control. And how invasive SC is on the track. Did you happen hold the TC switch for 5 seconds to disable the SC? I probably need to do some thread searching on this topic...
  12. GT350 on the Nürburgring driven by Misha Charoudin

Wow. I'm not sure what takes a bigger set of brass stones...doing 220kph around blind corners in somebody else's car and going 3 wide around a 996 GT3, or being the 'somebody else' and riding co-pilot while somebody who has never driven your car before 'sends it'. +1 on the footwork and state...
  13. 3" SPTA ROB Pads- MF or Foam?

I just snagged Griot's 3" G8 ROB and thought I'd give the SPTA pads a go FTW. Since they'll end up in a ziplock bag, I got out the sharpie to remind my steel sieve of a memory where each one sits in their color schema. I started using a PC7424 ROB about 20 years ago when there were really on...
  14. Vinyl Stripe Scratches/Swirl Marks

My recent acquisition of my first GT350 came with long to-do list of upgrades and elbow grease to get it where I wanted it. I've been using Sal Zaino's products for 20+ years although none of his products will 'fill' micro marring like a good can of carnauba wax can with far less effort. But...
  15. What did you do to your GT350 today?

Dropped in a fresh windshield. This new-to-me '18 had 17k miles and there were a couple scratches that annoyed me so put in a new OEM piece. Well, actually two...the first one they did last week had 4 x 1/2" scratches on the inside in front of the driver's FOV that we didn't see until I backed...
  16. Questioning Gen 2 voodoo reliability

Now that I've owned my first Ford product for a couple months, a GT-350 wouldn't be my first choice as a DD for the simple fact that when I want to get somewhere, idling in my garage for 3-5 minutes to get the oil up to temp in a non-starter. Couple that with somebody wanting to race every damn...
  17. Shelby GT350 Garage Photos

Thx. I got to fly the twin-tailed afterburning crack pipe for 19 of my 23 years in the Nav. I have somewhat of an adrenaline/G force addiction...the Shelby checks a LOT of boxes! Now if it only came with a Get Out of Jail Free card lol...
  18. Shelby GT350 Garage Photos

Found this on FB Marketplace. 16 gauge snake with a 20 gauge backing. A local San Diego medically retired firefighter has taken up plasma cutting in his garage to pass the time. Great dude and he is putting out some fun stuff. It's the only item I figured warranted screwing into the cabinets...
  19. LTH Resonator Delete Install and dB

yes- the forward heat shield can be removed and that piece was reattached using the t-bolt clamps. And for the record, pulling the resonators off was the single best thing done so far to the mancave mistress. Given it’s not a dd, I thoroughly enjoy the sounds of all the horses breathing...
  20. LTH Resonator Delete Install and dB

So I attached the heat shield using t-bolt clamps (and trimmed the bolts) then wrapped the remainder with header wrap. Second thoughts: 1. I should have wrapped first then attached fwd heat shield. This would have allowed me to use the aft t-bolt clamp to secure the wrap vice the ss straps...
