This is a big nothing burger. Bore is so shiny its reflecting the piston top. The lines are a shinier area of the bore on the thrust side of the bore. Only surprising thing is the texture of the piston top.
A V8 and Mustang are synonymous. When one goes, so begins the decline of the other. It turns into a word at that point, just a same as everything else boring ass 4 wheels and a yawn, which is what those of you who don't understand or agree with this sentiment should be driving.
Losing the V8...
It seems complicated at first, but it gets easy to understand after you think about it.
If you waited to take off till you saw green, you are going to be going home very early if you are in eliminations. Keep launching earlier and earlier during time trials until you get a red light, then try to...
My guess is 6.2 block in aluminum with updates, bored using spray bore tech and stroked, and 4V heads to get full effect of variable valve timing with direct injection thrown in for good measure. Similar to the early iron 5.4 3V evolution to 5.8 4V in one jump. Anything less is a cop out...
Has anyone made an exhaust yet for the v6 that doesn't sound like dog shit unless its mouse quiet? Not that I know of. If they put the eco v6 in a Mustang, fine. Just don't call it a Shelby, Boss or Cobra. And don't pretend it could run with its supercharged V8 competitors without a huge weight...
I believe the new 7.0 Liter engine being developed will probably be all aluminum architecture, so its weight should be significantly lighter than the 6.2 in the previous Raptor.
They are slipping in general. No info on 2018 power, late release, over priced and markups on 3 going on 4 years on 350R's with no end in sight, no response to ZL1+1LE, no response to Hellcat and Demon, an un-a-ford-able and unattainable, non-independently tested halo car, they really are...
Click on the link, you can clearly see the headers on that S197, something that is difficult to do on my Boss from that angle. I bet it would fit easily, but with 4V heads, it would be marginally tighter.
Ford doesn't like to throw things away, and the bore center tooling for that engine is...
