It is interesting that they moved it up compared to all the S197 tow hooks which usually go straight through the front of the bumper cover. Maybe they welded it to the top instead of the front but it still looks kinda high to me.
Sure, they want to sell cars. One of the hallmarks of SVT has always been exclusivity. Yes, I know this isn't the same SVT. They know they could provide an auto but choose not to. If they were to do it, they wouldn't just drop the automatic trans from the GT into a car like this. They would...
Cool to see so many people trying Mustangs for the first time when I've been a Mustang fanatic since before I got my license.
Sounds like Ford is doing it right!
Long story short:
All the cars I've ever owned...
1965 289-4V Mustang hardtop black w/pony interior (still have)
1966 289-2V Mustang hardtop yellow (parts car sold bc it wasn't black)
1988 LX 5.0 Mustang hatch red w/ red interior (wrecked/salvaged sold bc it wasn't black)
1989 Mustang GT 5.0...
I am not concerned about first year production issues but I am waiting a year for the ADM crap to die down so I can get one at a reasonable price. No rush here.
I am a fan of the stick shift, too. All three of my Mustangs have a manual 5-speed or 6-speed. BUT many newer track cars and and race cars are being built with paddle shifters, SMG or dual clutch autos (DCT), which act like an auto but internally work like a manual. Why? They shift faster than...
Yeah, I'm with you on that. I listen to Sirius radio exclusively. Looks like I'll be listening to my own mp3s in this car UNLESS we can convince Ford to make the Sirius chip standard (as it should be!).
Since you can't get a red R with black stripes, how about a red R with a black roof? With the black wheels, trim, mirrors, and valence, it should look pretty slick.
Yeah, obviously you would have to change or drop the accent stripe on an R with red stripes, but that's not really a good enough reason not to offer it.
Not having the hardware connecting the rotor and hat does take a maintenance item away. As we've said here before most owners won't go through that many sets of rotors. I'm sure the aftermarket will have a two-piece kit with bolts in this size (if not available already) for us track junkies...
There's your answer right there ^^^^.
Case closed.
I ran 13" OEM one-piece rotors on my car for several years. Then I found a custom two piece setup that had aluminum hats and iron discs. Went from 19 pound to 14 pound rotors PER CORNER. Huge difference in unsprung weight. The savings here...
True. Many years ago I was at a track day with a guy driving an NSX at Summit Point. During the first session out, the guy was really slow, like grannie slow. I remember thinking, those cars are NOT all that. By the end of the weekend, the guy was fast. One track weekend with a good instructor...
