  1. CTSC Update: Multimatic Motorsports will have two cars at Lime Rock this weekend

We've been over this before... Then, whoever spends the most money wins. They everyone else quits and the series dies. They tried that before and the result is NO racing at all.
  2. I wonder if these people know what they're bidding on...

Something's not right here. Combined is 16. $1300 would be for 21 mpg. The car gets 21 highway. According to the EPA website, there are no Fords on the Gas Guzzler lists from 2011 to 2013. The GT500 with the 5.4L was on there in 2010.
  3. CTSC Update: Multimatic Motorsports will have two cars at Lime Rock this weekend

It doesn't sting. It just makes everyone bitter. Every new or updated car that comes in is faster than the old and gets "adjusted" to even the field. It's a shame but as we said before, it's really the best way to keep the series alive. Each MFR gets their chance to run well in the series and...
  4. Anybody Get Their VIN# Yet For a 2016? Post Here.

I collect the brochures. I have them all the way back to the 1993 Cobra. How tight are they about giving them out?
  5. Anybody Get Their VIN# Yet For a 2016? Post Here.

I thought that might be but wasn't sure. Why couldn't they use an R?!? :) I know, I know, the feds... Three are listed at $56,xxx and three are listed at $67,xxx but only two of them are 1FATP... Not sure if there's an error in the data or maybe they've just added on ADM already.
  6. Anybody Get Their VIN# Yet For a 2016? Post Here.

Is there a single letter/number in the VIN that differentiates a 350 from an R? I'm seeing six 350s on cars.com now but it doesn't seem obvious.
  7. Shelby top two slots in qualifying @ Motorsport park

You "earn the right to be there" when your front tire is even with the driver of the other car. That clearly happens as 90% of Maxwell's car has passed Vance. Yes, he never completes the pass. They make contact while all 8 tires on still on pavement. Since Maxwell has the advantage and doesn't...
  8. Shelby top two slots in qualifying @ Motorsport park

From my point of view, it appears that Maxwell has earned the right to be there because his car is already leading the other car before the contact. In NASA rules (where I race) once the overtaking car's front tire is next to the driver the overtaking car has the right to be there even if you...
  9. GT350 Shipping weight

Agreed. I'm just saying with all the development they've done the 5.2 will have the same ability to detune to prevent damage as the 5.0 no matter how shitty your gas is. Ford may very well say "Premium Fuel Required" but I'm betting it doesn't explode when the first guy puts 87 octane in it.
  10. GT350 Shipping weight

Why would the manufacturer care what fuel a dealer added? The computer detunes the engine as necessary for the fuel. Any enthusiast who cares about the weight of a car or modding a car is going to put the right fuel it in once they get it.
  11. Shelby GT350R offers first mass-produced carbon fiber wheels

yeah, that's what I was thinking. They just don't have the labels correct yet.
  12. GT350 Shipping weight

    This is good news!
  13. Shelby GT350R offers first mass-produced carbon fiber wheels

They have a list price for the Shelby Aluminum 19x9 and 19x9.5 Front and Rear but I don't know what the 1007B wheel is for. The original CR9 was a 9 spoke but the Cf R wheels have all been 7 spoke. 1007C is the GT350 wheel 1007D is the GT350 R wheel neither of which have a price listed yet
  14. Shelby GT350R-C first impressions @Mosport

I'm thinking preproduction part that was probably (at least partially) hand fabricated.
  15. Shelby GT350R offers first mass-produced carbon fiber wheels

Their rules probably limit wheel, tire and rotor sizes like ours do. In American Iron, we have a max 18" D and max 9.5" W for wheels and max rotor diameter of 14".
  16. Shelby GT350R-C first impressions @Mosport

Nice pics. thanks. I like how they added a diffuser into the back edge of the fuel cell. I also see they've changed the tailpipes to remove the quad tips. Less weight, more power, no doubt. You suggest that adding HP will make the series more fun. Not true. Making the cars faster does not...
  17. Shelby GT350R offers first mass-produced carbon fiber wheels

Tire Rack lists the 19x10 Boss wheel at 33 lbs. They don't list any other 19" wheels wider than 9" for the '15 Mustang. If you want a track wheel, the 18x10 BBS/Boss wheel (used in IMSA) is a great buy now and only 24.5 lbs...Assuming it works with the GT350 brakes. I can't remember if they...
  18. GT350R-C is Going to be at Watkins Glen!

I hope they make that lightened wiring harness available through Ford Racing. That will be a nice piece to have for those who are building S550 race cars. We knew they couldn't run the 19" wheels but it sucks that they had to downgrade the brakes, too.
  19. so why doesnt the GT350 come with.....

They didn't have a FPC 8200 RPM V8 until 6 months ago. What's another transmission to a company like Ford? :)
  20. GT350R-C is Going to be at Watkins Glen!

P3 out of 15 in GS from Practice 1.
