  1. Mustang engines.

But in terms of the street/ mod world, there are massively powerful GM and Dodge V8's with superchargers or turbos. And as far as stock is concerned...it takes a heavily modified Coyote to make the Demon's 840HP and that comes with a warranty. In terms of stock...which is the vast majority of...
  2. Mustang engines.

HP/CI is largely irrelevant unless the weight is vastly different. Point being, there is nothing wrong with a larger displacement engine per se, and if it makes significantly more power but without a lot of extra weight...all other things being equal, it wins the race. Well, it certainly is...
  3. Dumb RPM question

If you had bought a Camaro or Challenger, you'd feel more low down torque. Regardless, the 5.0L still produces 420lb-ft which is nothing to sneeze at...a lot more than a Miata. A turbo WRX - not sure, but turbos usually increase low down torque. Driving an F-150 with the 5.0 vs either of the...

I briefly owned a 2018 Raptor pickup. Nice vehicle, but I really didn't care for the A10. It routinely skips gears, but not always smoothly. If any of you have driven a vehicle with the ZF8HP automatic 8-speed transmission commonly found in RAM half ton pickups, I think you'll agree it is a...

My car was something I bought off the lot, GT Premium with the manual. It was my local dealer, and he actually had two to choose from. You might well be right, as the manual is slowly dying, even in performance car segments. I know the 10A is simply faster, but it just doesn't have the same...

Interesting. Were these cars you tried out new or used? My car shifts like butter...maybe I did get lucky. I've done a couple of near-redline shifts from 1st to 2nd, and it takes more skill to make those shifts smoothly. I've never tried that at those RPMs from 2nd to 3rd because I'd be going...

In fairness, a "base" Mustang GT is pretty well equipped. Full LED lighting on the exterior (except the reverse light, lol) is something you don't get when buying a $70k Ford F-250 Lariat diesel. Auto dimming rearview mirror is standard (you can't get this on a $65k F-250 XLT diesel); the 4.2"...

Ever notice how once a few people have a problem with a particular thing and it gets on the Internet, suddenly all of them are "junk?" My MT-82 shifts extremely well. No issue around 3rd gear. Perhaps if you were shifting at or near redline all the time there would be a problem, but who does...

Yeah, $80k would be the exception and not the rule. Most Wranglers with 4 doors are in the 40k range. Still a lot, but not unheard of.

Why is Ford offering a manual Bronco then? Why spend the development dollars on something that will be a hard sell and only a few will buy them?

Nothing wrong with that. I agree. Part of what forced this style of engine control to disappear were government emissions mandates, and CAFE requirements. At this time, nothing is forcing the hand of manufacturers not to offer a manual. And there is no reason "progress" cannot exist right...

"Widespread" love. There will always be hobbyists. The manual transmission has widespread love. People buy less of them because outside of sports cars they tend to be offered in cheap econoboxes or in configurations nobody wants (i.e. 2WD, 4-cylinder Chevy Colorado before even that was phased...

Why does Jeep build the Wrangler when all its other SUVs are unibody crossovers with fully independent suspension? For credibility in the off-road world, and for a link to the past. Maybe you don't think it, but true enthusiasts like manuals.

I had a 2018 RAM 3500 crew cab long bed dually with the Cummins diesel and G56 manual transmission. I loved that truck, and traded it for a 2019 RAM 3500 with an auto because I believed my older plow truck had died and I had no interest plowing with a long truck with a manual. I deeply regret...

The number of vehicles with a manual transmission is dwindling fast. I think part of it is those who love them are trying to convince others. Unfortunately, most of the others basically say...yeah, been there, done that...prefer automatic. GT500 - no manual Corvette - no manual Ferrari - no...

My car is my daily commuter or fun trip car. I also have a crew cab diesel F-350 with an automatic transmission which is my work / family vehicle. But I prefer driving the Mustang with the manual, every day, even in traffic. But as you say, to each their own. Certainly the automatic is more...

That wouldn't bother me one bit. There's always going to be someone with a faster car than you.

People that don't drive manuals don't get it...this emotional connection with the car. Whenever I complain about electric cars, people tell me how much faster a Model S is than my Mustang. I don't disagree, but they don't understand why I think my car is so much more enjoyable to drive. That...

How's the clutch pedal work in your GT500? Lol. I would definitely take the ride if I was near you though! I drove a DSG VW GTI a few times, definitely lightning fast gear changes, and a lot more responsive on the paddles than doing the same with a conventional torque converter automatic. But...
