The cooled seats are, in fact, cooled. They use a device called a "TED" (Thermo-Electric Device) which works based upon applying current to a different set of polarities. Applying current across one end of the device causes cooling; the other causes heating. Ford vehicles with heated/cooled...
In my opinion, the factory exhaust is not really that loud. It cold starts pretty impressively with a nice fairly loud growl, but my biggest gripe is how at low throttle the car sounds almost silent. No constant rumble. I have AE, and there are some noticeable differences between modes. That...
You sound like my kind of person!
I can't stand the crackles and pops everyone thinks are so great, either. That's my primary gripe about Sport mode exhaust tone.
What's this "blue plug" in the trunk for a sub people are talking about? Will my 400A car have it? Where do I look?
So...does it apply just to electric cars, or all cars? Because I've played fair all my life with taxes, but if the gov wants to double tax me I'll start filling my diesel truck from the off-road pump.
This is nuts. Doesn't the "gas tax" already perform the same feat? People that drive lots of miles use more fuel and thus pay more "tax?"
Now the government wants to further tax one of the few enjoyable pastimes we have left.
I know my GT is not remotely the fastest car out there, but it sounds good, has lots of power, shifts well, handles well, looks good, is pretty well equipped, and I love driving it as much as possible. Its a great DD.
Yeah, people try to race me too. I like the rev-matching, but I always drive in sport mode and downshifting to a traffic light is fun. But then people want to race. Many times I'll just shift into neutral and coast to a stop. Usually the people who want to race are driving everyday rubble...
Very nice looking car; wheels look great. Amazing photography too. I do prefer the factory 2018+ GT parking lights and fog lights in LED, but DD makes excellent stuff as well.
My car has 265x35x20 at all corners, but for now they are the stock Goodyear Eagle Asymmetric all seasons, so certainly not as grippy as summers and those cars with the wider 275 at the rear. Glad your car is shifting nice as well.
Now that I've had my car for half a year and some thousands of miles, I've done a few "north of 6,000" shifts...and they seem pretty clean. This car has a lot of power at that RPM level, but I'm not noticing clutch slippage or rough or jerky shifts. So far, I'm enjoying this transmission. The...
So a "regular" GT already makes 460HP, and the Mach 1 as it is makes 480. So you want the Mach 1 to have less HP than a regular GT but more torque? Hate to say it, but there is no way a 5.2L cross plane is going to make 510lb-ft with natural aspiration...
EDIT...my bad, I see you did torque...
I understand the braking. I also understand the 6.2L Challengers are not track cars, but rather straight line cars. Its not that they don't handle "well" because they do, its just that they don't handle in the league of the GT350 / GT500, and maybe not even as good as a standard GT, etc. But...
Hmmm....the GT500 "outbrakes" the Hellcat by TWO FEET from 70mph. Not exactly much to brag about with the massive brakes of the GT500. And the 6.2L Dodge is intercooled and includes the other coolers you mention as well.
First of all, let's talk about "weight." The difference in weight between a GT500 and a Challenger 6.2L is 343lbs. Both cars weigh over 4,000lbs, and the Dodge does not weigh "2.5 tons." The 6.2L is hardly "parts bin cheap" any more so than a GM V8 or Ford V8.
All you people criticizing the 6.2L Hemi...still need to consider the fact that it produces more horsepower with a warranty than anything from Ford, including the supercharged 5.2L engine. Yes, the Challenger / Charger is bloated, although they still look good. But that engine is impressive. And...
