Might want to send the injectors off and have them flowed. Cheap insurance.
Are you using a BAP?
Might also change fuel filter.
My money is on bad gas/fuel delivery failure if it ran fine for 11k miles.
OP if you want a good low budget build go with a factory short-block and put some...
I am a little late to the party but if you ever want the ultimate bug killer use this stuff.

It’s the same thing you put on dogs(frontline) for fleas.
You can spray it in...
Here is a hack.
Here is a hack.
I wired mine to the map light always on. The map light circuit is cut off after 5? Mins after car is shut off.
Always on while car is running.
They will scale the about same.
50% throttle should have the same percentage on both cars.
That said the variable valve timing on the Mustang will give it a slight advantage. Don’t think it’s enough to matter though.
If he didn’t disclose it would have something on the carfax, I would move along. He probably isn’t lying about anything else but the trust is gone.
Bad carfax should take 2-5k off the price regardless. It has a claim on it and it is no longer clean.
Sorry to hear about the bad luck with...
3.55 will feel faster but 3.15 on the street will be faster.
3.55 are really good at spinning the tires in first and second. 3.15 a little less so.
At the track it seems to be a wash until you start getting tires, tune, transbrake, converter. Then 3.55 are beneficial.
If you want to...
On that last run in the video the shifts sounds lazy.
Sounded like the shifts engaged slipped for a split second and finally pulled the Rpm down after some torque was removed.
I wasn’t trying to nit pick just wanted to add in detonation is not going to hurt anything in lower compression engines.
I had a 1996 s10 2.8 V6 that pinged everyday all day. Pulled the motor apart at 260k from a bad thermostat overheat and the besides the warped head, everything was great...
That’s all great info.
The part about the piston being pressed down is slightly misleading though.
The part of higher compression detonation that causes damage is the combining flame fronts. The energy pushing piston to push down the other way is not what causes the problem.
This is why...
I don’t think this transaction will ever happen.
Anyone can bid on almost anything on Ebay.
Cancelling the bid is as easy as a couple clicks. It’s not binding.
Kinda expected this thread to go sideways.
I am not saying the tick is anything. My car has it. It runs great.
I am wondering if Ford revised anything to fix it in the 2020 model.
Seemed to have originally caught them off guard in 2018 so ford might have made a few revisions.
Using a cover outdoors runs a real risk of getting rocks and debris from the parking lot(?) on the inside of the cover. You will of course drag that across the car.
I wouldn’t cover if outside. It also hinders the paint from drying properly over time.
On a dyno.
Put it in the real world with temperature swings and changing driving conditions and it will pop.
People just don’t get how fragile this engines are to detonation.
93 and heat just don’t go together.
