I have the Shaftmasters in my ā18 too and it was a direct bolt in and WITHOUT adapters unlike the DSS and Gforce ones that I had. I too couldnāt understand why the use of adapters period. Makes no sense to me.
Burkey, no I donāt mind at all. Iāve stated before that I think edelbrock has made a good product for the guys BUT I also know that my car was built by Signature Speed to exactly as their own ā18 A10 car that indeed ran 9.0ās@156 a few times at 4020lbs. Now compare what this edelbrock equipped...
Thanks Burkey. Yeah man 810 ft/lbs and early is ton and especially early. I mean with my 600 early in the 2000 rpm range it is all I want and more. The stock MT82 and stock clutch are holding up still pretty good and to my surprise. Iāve been seeing a few people do Gen5ās on S197 cars though so...
Kona 18, can you share what your torque was at 2000 RPMās? Not to compare with mine but I just wanted to know what your combo did at that range.
The comment about unmanageable low end is because I know more people than I can count that go with a PD blower first and then complain about not being...
Burkey thatās a good statement. I donāt have my initial tuning sheet handy because they were all low RPM pulls to make sure the fuel, timing etc was good before we took it to the moon BUT with the 3.75ā pulley it was 520ās at 2000 and over 600 at 2000 with the 3.625ā. Of course you are asking...
All,
Not for me to get into a fussing match at all but I want to share what I have.
2018 Manual GT
100% Stock engine except Boundry OPG/CG
100% Stock 6-speed trans and clutch
Full MBRP LT headers, 3ā H-Pipe with their high flow cats and their chambered mufflers
Full FORE fuel system with...
I like this. Great to see someone build a car with airlift on it AND drag race it. I wanna see how well it runs with the suspension kit. Great work Beefcake!
So the CJ blower is the one with the front water inlets vice the side inlets for the street ones? I have the Gen5 on my manual '18 and it's definitely no joke.......much bigger intercoolers and a HE that you don't need fans for. Mine made 978 RWHP on E85 at 16 psi stock engine with the Fore...
So Whipple says that you can use the Gen5 on your car? If so that is great news. I see no reason why it couldn't be retro fitted to be used on the '15-'17 cars too. Good seeing someone with a manual go after the record. I will add that 9's aint no joke either way........record or not. Good...
I chose the Whipple over anything else with a manual because of the instant hit off the throttle. I went Mac daddy on upgrades though with the 10 rib kit, $2500 Fore fuel system, ID1050X injectors, 3.625ā pulley, 20% OD crank pulley, oversized HE, full MBRP exhaust system with their high flow...
VERY impressive Edelbrock! I'ev always enjoyed the products from Edelbrock and this is just another great option for everyone..........great job again.
I agree Torinate. Although Iām no longer LPF twin turboed, my ā18 sports a Gen5 Whipple and on 15.23 psi it made 898 RWHP......made 16.68 psi and it made 978 RWHP a difference of 1.45 psi netted 80 RWHP. I just canāt see how just 8.3 psi made 370 more RWHP either.
