You make it sound as if the Boss was almost nothing more than a California Special-like option package. It was more than that. It was developed by Ford Racing in concert with their actual racing program.
In any case, it really doesn't matter why it was limited to 2 years. The fact is that is...
I don't think limited production means what you think it means. It doesn't mean that there aren't enough to go around. There is no other way to describe the Boss 302's other thatn limited production. They said at the beginning that they would produce them for only 2 years and that's exactly what...
I sent a message to Ford Performance on FB about this issue of some people being able to place orders and some not. They expressed surprise that people were actually able to order 2016's and implied that only 2015 banks were open. They said that they would get back to me today.
It also occured...
MSRP includes profit for the dealer. In a direct sales model, the manufacturer wouldn't necessarily set the same MSRP.
Manufacturers probably don't want to own and run actual brick and mortar dealerships, but it would be nice if people who know exactly what they want could order online...
I'd like to hear more about this conversation. Did the zone rep clear up the confusion about whether or not order banks are actually open? If not, when? Etc.
So do we still have dealers claiming that they can't order yet?
Is it still the case that only the older(?) CONCEPS system is allowing orders to be entered?
Maybe a dealer on here could shed some light on the difference between the two systems if any.
Yep, that was the big change for Gen3 which allowed them to go from ~20ms to ~10ms. I'd imagine that any new vehicles will use at least Gen3 from here on out.
Do you have a source for this? Everything I can find says that Gen2 MR was greater than 20ms and Gen3 is less than 10ms. I can't find anything that says a vette is only .5ms.
BTW, my research says Gen3 came out back in ~2009. Seems far fetched that Ford (or anyone else) would use something...
