Except that the opening is actually larger on the non-R. The entire opening goes all the way down to the bumper on the non-R whereas the R has that small section sticking up.
Maybe they decreased the opening slightly in order to increased the speed of the air coming in?

I really don't get this bone-headed decision. They went through the same thing with the Boss 302. The first year, you couldn't get the upgraded sync system. A bunch of people complained and sure enough, the second year it was offered.
It's certainly possible that they're doing it on purpose...
They should be broadcasting the race tomorrow on the website. I think the times are listed on the first post. If they follow the pattern, then it should be on TV next week.
They're just doing practice and qualifying today. They don't usually show video for that, you just have to watch the data feed to see who's doing what. The race is tomorrow.
