I dont think the concern is the tune being too much and causing damage, its that if you suddenly discover your engine was already faulty, that ford will refuse a warranty claim blaming the tune even though it wasnt actually caused by the tune.

I dont know what its like in the US, but in the UK you can hold credit card companies equally liable. All consumer contracts are also governed to say that products and services should be fit for purpose and provided with reasonable care. If its offered through the dealerships here as well then...

someone had this chat with ford... you keep your 5 year unless they trace the fault to be caused by the tune, then you get the 3 year (and the 3 year is from manufacture, not from when you installed the kit) now, it seems pretty obvious (and shady) that if anything goes wrong they are going...

Equally, if something a ford dealer did to the car damages the car, surely that's justification for a claim against the dealer. Ford can't really win, if the tune is faulty then they are admitting liability for creating a damaging product, if the tune isn't faulty then it shouldn't have caused...

Everyone else that's had it done has said it never does dry out, so what will you do next? Which dealer did you use?

The ford racing site has the motorcraft 820S on there as a cross reference and they both have silicone valve in the description so i would take that as a yes.

Won't you have to unpair it from your car first? So you'll lose 2 unlocks in the process?

it sounds like they are using the wet type of waxoyl stuff instead of the black stuff that sets like rubber - the wet stuff is supposed to be for spraying in to cavities, not for the bottom of the car yeah basically, if you spray a wax like substance over the bottom of the car then crap will...

Its pretty typical in customer service that people only take an action when they are prompted. The dealer probably wont chase ford if you dont chase them.

When I put the money down the dealer didnt even have any pics or swatches of the colour i was interested in - he told me if it arrived and i didnt like the colour i could cancel and get a full refund. Looking at my paperwork there is nothing on there that says the deposit is non refundable...

How would i lose a grand by cancelling? The deposit is fully refundable.

Not for me. I'm not going to knowingly buy faulty goods with no expectation of them fixing the problem. I'm specifically buying a new one because I want warranty, if they aren't going to honour the warranty then its pointless. I've waited this long, I'm happy to wait a bit longer.

Does anyone know of anyone thats asked to inspect and possibly refuse to take delivery to see if they sort this out upfront? My car isnt due in for a few months yet but Gowrings seem to be on the list of dealers trying to shrug it off. I'm due to go back in with them for an extended test drive...

If you're doing it because of adding a supercharger, not much more as you'll have most of the front off for that anyway. I was just going to do an ATI balancer, but if the on3 or boundary OPG's are only $200 it doesnt make sense not to really.

Out of interest, what psi are you maiking now on what pulley?
