Credits added to my RTD today and tune loaded from Wengerd. Low and behold the car starts and seems to run just fine. Sent initial datalog off. Can't wait.
This will probably be my last comment in this thread, but if you can't read between the lines....
Please choose Wengerd over Ortiz...
More to this story for me....
Finally received my replacement SCT device on Tuesday. I knew in advance when I was going to get the device, so I contacted their social media person on Facebook last Thursday asking that, if I were to get my replacement SCT device on Tuesday, would I be able to...
Finally, after 1 week and 1 day, I get a response that says I need to get the stock file recovered from SCT (or reflashed by Ford) so I can use the RTD. Seems like good information that I could have used last week to get the ball rolling, instead of twiddling my thumbs for 8 days not doing...
Good to know, I guess.... Maybe that is what is happening to me.
As for the stock tune file, wouldn't you need to still have a working SCT device to get it back on your car?
I did not buy from beefcake, i bought from the Ortiz website directly. I was just saying that they are "reputable" enough to be carried by one of the biggest aftermarket mustang parts houses.
Only wrinkle with me is that my tuner tuned me with the SCT first, and now I am switching to the RTD, while using the same tuner (for now). You would think they would be able to get me a tune for my car using the other device, but who knows.
I officially have my RTD in hand, and still nothing...
SCT got back to me. If they are unable to fix my device and have to send a new one, then they would load some sort of recovery file using my VIN onto it to get me a stock tune.
I will probably send it in, as I am sure I could sell the unlocked device.
Now, as to whether I need to do this to...
I have some general questions and maybe a unique situation.
First, if using an HPT RTD, it is my understanding that the device needs credits to register to your vehicle.
If I was to switch tuners, do I need to purchase additional credits? My first thought is no, but I want to confirm.
So, if...
Ortiz.
Only reason I went with them instead of you is because I had an SCT device already, so dropping an extra $500 at the timed seemed unreasonable. But now that my SCT device bricked, and I am hearing reports of this happening to others, I went ahead and purchased the RTD anyway.
Now the...
I don't know why everyone is being confused. If my comments are read in their entirety, you would see that I am currently being tuned by Ortiz, and you would see that my service with them has so far been subpar, at least to me.
I am not tuned by Wengerd, but since this is a Ortiz vs Wengerd...
That is my fear. It will come in Thursday, I will set it up and then email them, then it won't be until next Tuesday until they send me a tune, at which point it would be 12 days since they originally knew I purchased the device from them. I don't know if that is unreasonable or not, but I am...
Did it take 5 days or more to get responses back when he tuned you? Because that is how long any sort of reply is taking for me. I was running an SCT device. I am going to switch to the RTD+, which I bought from their website. I purchased that from Ortiz last Thursday, emailed them with the...
i am using Ortiz performance. i sent them a log of my bad initial start up on Wednesday at 4:26PM central time. Still have had no response from them at all.
It spilled onto the tube with the MAF installed. I first wiped down the tube/top of MAF. I then removed the MAF from the tube and there was a drop at lease that had trickled down the MAF body. This was opposite the hot wire, so I wiped it off. I then just peered down the MAF hole and I did not...
I was thinking that myself, there would be more evaporation when wet, skewing the cooling of the MAF wire making it think it is ingesting more air than in reality. Unfortunately, like I said earlier, without a tuning device I am SOL until the new one comes in. Just kind of sucks that I was only...
