Which is bad for daily driving as it means it takes far longer for oil to get up to temperature and work at its best..
As for swapping it out, as long as the hoses connect (from memory the mishi uses AN10 connections?) then it will work.
Yeah general consensus is that for power a drop in filter is enough, and the Airaid intake tube also helps a bit on stock turbo.
I have the Airaid full CAI and like the look of it, I also have the NX2 turbo and with the Airaid I can have a 3" connection to the turbo intake which I presume helps...
To be fair, without a catch can you would have been putting that in the intake the whole time. Id bet it was more because you were blocking that port and causing issues then the oil going anywhere.
Glad its sorted for you though.
Note to self: go check my catch can
^^ My initial tune was dog slow too, different tuner though. I think the first 3-4 revisions all brought big power gains. Just keep doing the process and you'll get there
So I did a track day on the weekend and I can say that the mishimoto intercooler is undersized for this turbo. Charge temps were over 20c above ambient which felt way too high to me.
I'll look to upgrade it to probably the Whipple intercooler when I get a chance, but that probably won't be for...
Who is your tuner? they can tune it out generally, some chose not too though.
Your other choice is to use an O2 fouler which tricks it into thinking your cats are working normally
So had a track day today and going down the back straight the car light up with overheat warnings, coolant temp warnings, etc. Pulled over and stopped the engine and then limped it to the pits a few minutes later.
Had a look and the tensioner wasn't tensioning, so no water pump or power...
Yeah most tests show throttle body spacers do nothing, having the meth bung can be useful for those that use it though, but most are adding it earlier in the cold side charge pipe to let it mix better
I know someone here who has it on a GT that they do professional rally events in all the time, like once every month or two, multi day staged events with a supercharger. Never seen him have a cooling problem.
I will say though that Ford Performance on their FP350 purpose built race car model...
One guy did a limited run of air to water intercoolers but it was more meant for drag racing. They also only get you to ambient unless you put ice in the water tank as well (which was what he built them for, drag racers to run cold water to get super low charge temps)
Its probably a bad spark plug, if you're taking it to a mechanic they can see if the gap is obviously bad or if there is any other damage to the plug, it could be something else, but take out the simple stuff first.
Our cars are pretty new so coil pack failure isn't common.
Otherwise just take...
P0301 = cylinder 1 misfire
P0316 = misfires on startup
B108E comes up as entertainment unit stuff
B1215 = electrical issue in general
B1446 = electrical issue in general
I think some of those B codes can come up if you ever pull the battery. Clear the codes and see what comes up
However the P...
Like the other thread, the hose should click into place, check out the clip at the end of the hose to see if its broken or not right if it doesn't click on
Thats what Tune+ link to for installing their built engines, saying that they start from a 2.0TS block so yeah maybe wrong.
If its $15 off ebay, seriously thats a gasket or hose cost, on top of the thousands paid for an engine.
Varex sell a competing system, bluetooth and all if you want another option (bluetooth and just just a remote requires their smart box though, extra cost over their varex system)
OK so my tune is finally finished because I stopped slacking off sending in logs, and seeing as though some didnt like my mid revision stuff I posted a couple of pages ago.
Same disclaimer as before, these are from logs I sent to my tuner, and put in Virtual dyno, they are not from a real dyno...
