Don't go Lund unless your goal is drag racing.
1. They lie to you, I was told tune required parts needed no tune revision (wastegate)
2. The transmission shifts in all drive modes are hard and not great for cruising around
3. They basically dont care about the Ecoboost platform outside a couple...
Considering its knock that adjusts that number, makes sense, although I suspect we will all have the same problem you did in finding it again in the giant list of gauges you can add if you didnt read this!
it will let you screw things up, but its also not hard to do it right. You can back up the data before changing it, so unless you totally brick it, you can restore it to how it was before.
Its pretty easy to go to the right spot and write the right codes though
it adds more noise to the cabin, I turned it off via forscan and the cabin sounds much better now IMO.
I only have the MBRP street too, not the loudest exhaust.
15's are also older, so more KMs on them and sold really well, hence more blown engines, no idea if they are over-represented after that.
That sucks though, no one wants that to happen to them.
I bought mine from CP-E on last years Black Friday deal for like $1700 US (Plus shipping and import fees to Australia, not relevant for US people).
As for the install, I cant remember the exact cost but it was like 2-3 hours labour, they had installed one before mine so knew the process pretty...
As in race track? Ive tracked mine before and after and anecdotally I was hitting higher top speeds on the straights. My day was cut short by the tensioner breaking though and I didnt record many laps, but overall the car felt much faster. I will say though that Im the slowest part of my car...
Look up my garage entry, the last mod I did was the turbo.
However I will say that the mishimoto now doesn't cope with the new turbo and it needs to be upgraded again, and downpipe will also be next.
No.
OK, so when you left OFF boost (EG, you're accelerating under boost and take your foot off the accelerator) it blows off that pressure. The factory system takes that air and puts it back on the other side of the turbo in a closed system which is quiet.
A BOV lets that vent to atmosphere...
Its a hum, does your exhaust sound ONLY behind you? cause that was the biggest difference when I disabled it, the sound wasn't around me, but behind me now.
I have the NX2 and the DV+ (from before the turbo upgrade) and I get flutter but only coming off acceleration at high boost Im fairly sure.
One thing I see on the vargas is that it doesn't have any anti-surge porting in the outlet, so it wont deal with the throttle body closing quite as well
