I agree; the mods should just post a "Read this first" post on doing a search for this question as it is asked constantly.
In threads like the one the OP posted you get those who say get a Whipple/KB, another Paxton/Vortech, another Procharger, and those who say Turbo.
And then you get the...
That's great real world advice; I wouldn't of thought of that until I was actually doing it and I'd be pissed I didn't get a longer bolt.
They should have a FI subforum for OPG/TG/damper questions. ;)
There have been at least a few new posts a day, in a couple forums, for these items and it...
IMO, I wouldn't bother with halfshafts on an A6 car. I haven't heard of anyone breaking one on with an auto.
It's wasted money and if one goes out at the track it's not going to be a catastrophic event.
Driveshaft as mentioned by someone above is probably a good idea.
420/390
3.73, manual, and street tires is probably going to get you low 12's in the typical summer heat.
I'd guess 11.40's-11.60's in the fall with a sticky tire.
If you don't have upgraded half-shafts I would have a back-up plan to get home if by chance you bust one. I've seen one bust on a...
That sucks to hear; hope you get it sorted out and you can enjoy your car again.
It doesn't help you now but in my opinion I would replace the factory OPG+TG no matter how mild a forced induction set-up someone has.
It wouldn't matter if a FI manufacturer, vendor, or individual told me it...
It looks like they just added this for the 2016 Mustang's; finally. I checked few days ago and 60 months was the best for 0%.
Sweet deal for those looking for it!
Wow, that is a nice write-up companion to the manufacturer install manual.
It amazes me that many of the companies selling these kits for $6000+ don't care enough about customer support to write a completely detailed manual with photos.
They could probably eliminate a ton of customers trying...
Did you purchase OPG/TG for them to replace the factory pieces?
If not you might consider it if they are going to be in that area grinding the timing cover; though if the warranty covers a new engine maybe it doesn't matter?
Koon's recently quoted me this on a base 2016 GT. The price isn't terrible but I couldn't get myself to pay the freight, processing fee, and rape license plate fee. I might have considered it if they had 0% financing for 62 or 72 months. I did have a $750 brochure coupon. So the teaser WOW price...
The deal looks good for those who don't do their own work and want a warranty right off the bat.
However, if you get a manual you would/should want upgraded halfshafts that another poster already mentioned ($1500 parts only).
And if you get either trans. you might want to upgrade the...
A supercharger itself should get you into the 10's but it might be difficult on your street tires with a manual and 3.73's. You might need a drag radial even with the upgraded suspensions pieces you have to get to your goal.
It looks like a Paxton/Vortech/Procharger base kit would get you into...
