Yeah the old take it easy for 1000 miles is pretty bogus when it comes to engines. Modern engines are machined so tightly that break in isn’t really an issue for the rotating assembly and the piston rings like being beat on a little bit for best seal.
I’d buy that car for that price in a heartbeat as long as I could take it on a lengthy test drive and get a quick datalog. And of course if the tuning device came with it or it was on stock tune.
I think they would. Look at how much space I still have on the back end of the x pipe. That’s what I’d go with if I did it again. Just chop off more x pipe obviously.
Quiet mode is really quiet, my phone mic doesn’t make it sound any different but it is much quieter, but I wish normal mode was a...
Pedal is super easy to take off. I ran my flex fuel sensor wires through the same spot. Three nuts and the pedal is off, unclip the wire and it’s right there. There’s nothing to recalibrate or anything when you put it back on, just bolt it up and connect the wire.
I would recommend popping the...
Let’s see if I can make this work…
video is:
startup & idle: 1. normal high idle 2. quiet right when it settles into low idle 3. normal/sport/track (all the same).
Revs (quiet, normal, sport, track).
you can’t really hear the decibel difference on video but quiet mode drops the tone and the...
The Dynamat on the bottom of the car helps a lot too. I was actually thinking about dynamatting the exhaust for half a second before realizing that’s a stupid idea and it will burn. But exhaust wrap by the trans and diff is the next mod I’ll do.
This is the part number from summit
VPE-1792
It definitely toned it down and took the sharpness out of the tone until above 4500rpm. Before I’d keep it under 2500rpm daily driving to keep it from trumpeting.
in terms of actually making it quieter, I just drove it about 60 miles and once they...
Can’t get the pics to load but bet it’s badass. I have the OG hurst shifter and T handle on my 68. Didn’t know they made a shifter for these cars…
No pics. They tuck up real cleanly on the back of the x pipe. I had the ford performance x pipe butted right up against my exhaust so I just cut off the last 9” or so of the xpipe. The resonators are 12” and 2.5. They slide right over the xpipe and factory exhaust. I put the clamps on with an...
So I added the vibrant resonators to the back of my x pipe yesterday. It’s still louder than I’d like but the tone is improved 100% and the rasp is gone.
i also Dynamatted the hell out of the shifter bracket and any exposed spot of the floor pan near the exhaust which has made the inside of...
Stay away from the ford dealerships, you might leave with another mustang! I bought my car in January while working in Chicago, some great deals out there compared to metro detroit
There’s some pretty good deals out there right now on cargurus. Not like the initial Covid price drop where one owner cars were $40k but I’ve seen a few one owner cars in the $44-50k range depending on options.
Sounds like a bearing to me
Or maybe water pump. I can never tell from a video. Old school trick is to take a pry bar and put the chisel end next to a pulley and brace the handle against your jaw near your ear and you should be able to hear if one is louder than the rest.
I’ve had good luck at my local Firestone in Rochester but they are family owned so idk about other stores. Some people on this site recommend finding a Nissan dealership that can align the GTR because they have a top notch machine.
This^. I’ve done this on transmissions which are much more prone to leak than oil pans.
otherwise get the silicone gasket with metal inside mentioned above
