I've been reading several brake cooling duct project threads here and noted the various duct routing issues along with the DIY requirements of cutting out grill openings etc (I prefer keeping my fog lamp/running lights). I think I may have figured out a simpler solution and will be ordering...
2017 Ecoboost. For HPDE events, which modification would provide better cooling/engine protection - upgrade to the larger radiator, or install an oil cooler? I assume the correct answer is "both", but which is the most bang for the buck and best choice to do first?
I have the factory over-the-top stripes, and a touchless extreme high pressure car wash stripped some of it off the front bumper and front of the hood. I am going to replace them to install new stripes, but don't know the best way to first completely remove the original ones.
Goo Gone...
I've read directly contradictory statements regarding which is the better limited slip diffy for road course track days. Which is better - Torsen or Trac-Loc? And why?
FP tune, catch can, cp-e intercooler. Check my sig line for full list of mods.
At 27k miles my EB started a severe shudder/shaking in 6th gear when accelerated uphill from low rpms. I can cruise at 55-60mph in 6th gear, then floor the go pedal, and the whole vehicle will shudder until it speeds...
I asked this in the FP Tune thread but it may have gotten buried in the other gazillion posts. I need an answer if there is one.
Has anyone had a problem with a Ford scan tool not being able to identify their vehicle after the FP tune? I took mine in for an unrelated matter to my Ford dealer...
Looking for input from members who have installed cooling ducts and their results on road courses .... I cooked my brakes at the last HPDE session and will install some sort of cooling ducts before next spring. I would love to keep my fog lamps and am keeping up with another thread documenting...
Looking to upgrade the brakes on my Ecoboost for occasional light track use. I've already installed front GT brakes but cannot find a set of rears at any local junkyards.... not looking to pay $$$$ for a big aftermarket upgrade or $450 to the local Ford dealership for OEM Fomoco new GT calipers...
I had a chance to drive a friend's GT today, but it was in town and so we couldn't really stretch its legs. My question concerns power at the more usual in-town and easy highway day-to-day driving situations, not top end... I realize it may be my imagination, but the GT actually did not feel...
I thought I would give this stuff a try; for the price it was too good an idea to pass up just as an experiment. Next week I'll be taking a 2,200+ mile roundtrip to Texas and back to visit family and spend the weekend running at a HPDE event at Texas World Speedway. That should provide for a...
Surfing through several catch can threads, it seems there were improvements made to the oil separator and pcv in 2016. Were these good enough to negate the need for a catch can? Has anyone installed a catch can on a newer ecoboost made after the improvements to the pcv and oil separator; and if...
I just upgraded with a set of GT brakes on my front; now I have a set of non-PP Ecoboost calipers and rotors sitting in the garage. I am wondering if these may be an upgrade to any other smaller/lighter vehicle whose owner/enthusiast would be willing to pay for them.... or are these a throwaway...
I am thinking of going wider from the stock 235/50-18 tires on my stock rims. Going to 255 width seems to be on the borderline between suggesting 8" or 8.5" wide rims. For a daily driver in the south that might see a couple of track days per year, would 255s be okay on the stock 8" rims?
I'm wondering if my wife and I are simply too "unique" or if others suffer from this same frustration. With the headrest set in the most rearward tilt setting, it still props my head too far forward and after a short time my neck is hurting. And my wife has a physical condition that keeping...
