Well, they did replace the camera and also from the looks of it did some splicing on the wire harness on the right side of the trunk lid that goes into the lid from under the rear shelf - wrapped in black tape now. The camera works for now....

Mine made no difference whether the trunk was open or shut. Now going on 2 days in the shop for this repair and I'm not happy with it...but at least it doesn't feel as bad because they gave me a '16 EB to drive. :)

My dealer has ordered a new camera. Geez.... I hope they're fixing it right. If there's a problem with the wiring then the new camera will go out and I'll be pissed at having to leave it a day and a half for THIS job. I will post with the results.

I'm starting to think its just a poor design. I had mine done before I had any windshield replacements I think, but now that I'm on my 4th windshield (Ford OEM part) I think they'd treat me just like they did you.

I keep very detailed records on my cars. I just looked up my old '07 S197 Mustang. I bought it new and kept it 104000 miles. Total maintenance only cost was only $5,000. And almost all of it was done at a dealership. Total gas cost however was $15,271! I think that article is bs.
