Yea 5.5mm is super strange. The only thing I can think of is since these fasteners are really small they don't fall into any standards so you get oddball sizes like that. I hardly ever run into anything smaller than like a 7MM these days for hex head fasteners. (Allen head and Torx fasteners do...
Intereting for sure but the 7/32 fastener is probably 5.5mm which is an actual metric size. It is rare but i have seen it. Also 9/32 is most likely a 7mm.did you confrm a 7mm box wrench would not fit?
well even more of a reason to not get the camaro lol. Thats crazy! 25k repair bill? wow. I'm sure the dealership made out like a bandit on that one with labor charges paid in full by GM. Was this failure proven to be DI related?
like mustang guy said its really dependent on mileage. I doubt most people would see any serious issues until about 50k or higher. It's defiantly a problem on any DI injection car regardless of make or model. I do remember hearing some rumblings of issues with the direct injection though. Walnut...
The intervals is totally dependent on the owner. It may not be necessary but you will probably start to lose power after that point from carbon build up but your car will probably drive fine. You most likely here more about VAG cars having issues simply because they have been doing DI longer...
yea I totally agree. I think the solution would be to have both port and direct injection. This way you can have the port injection keep the valves clean by injection fuel into the intake stream and have the benefit of not having issues when you want to upgrade your fuel system.
This. Carbon build up is a major major issue and very expensive to deal with. It happens on every DI car. I work on VW/Audis on a pretty regular basis and the 2.0Ts always have carbon buildup. There are ways to prevent it somewhat with seafoam treatments and such but you will still end up with...
Why do you need SAE? I don't understand this comment. I'm very much into having the right tool for the job and I don't see the need for anything SAE on modern day cars.
We dont need DI. I hate DI. It does nothing but cause headaches and problems for performance vehicals. Port injection works fine and has been proven to make big power consistently. I want to be able to run e85 on my car without spending thousands on complicated fuel systems.
Even better! I was trying to find manual times but they are not listed in the 1/4 mile thread. I think guys are too hung up on HP and curb weight numbers and not actual real world performance numbers. Trap speeds in general will give you a really good idea just how fast your car is. 116 trap...
doesn't the a stock GT with an auto run like 12.5@113? Thats pretty close to the estimated 12.3@116 of the camaro. The manual is likely very close as well. The camaro may be slightly faster but I wouldn't say its that much faster especially once you start adding mods. I think both cars will end...
interesting. I have yet to see any 2015 stangs in chappaqua. Plenty of Audis, BMWs, and Porsche to go around though. I don't really drive it during the week since I take the train to work everyday.
hmm thats odd, I know they originally announced that the US would get the 6speed but they didn't announce when. When I looked back in july they only had DSG available. Seems now you can get the 6 speed. I would deff not get the 6speed just because of the clutch issue you will have. But thats me...
I had a mk6 golf r before I got the stang. Great car for what it is but deff not bang for the buck. The worst part is the clutch would slip at stage 2 power levels and required a $1000+ clutch kit. So at that point I didn't see the point in dropping all that money into a car to go low 12s. The...
I'm not arguing with you. I made my opinion based on my experience. Yours may vary which is fine. no harm no foul. I did not base on my opinions any forum chat chit. I don't even use Nasioc or Subaru forums so I couldn't tell you what the flavor of the week is there.
Also my friend does mostly...
Its deff not forum panic. I have had 2 subarus both with ring land issues. One just had a tune with only 34k on the clock. Also a buddy of mine owns a shop and makes a ton of money building broken subaru engines all day long. Its fact. Many people have issues while some don't. It always seems...
Alot of people I know that have had several subarus just can't deal with the garbage EJ engines in the WRX/STI anymore. The build quality and durability of these engines is really poor. Everything from spun rod bearings to cracked ring lands is pretty common. Even if the RS is not way faster...
