With the shifter now sitting so much higher with the gap I would think that the throw is quite a bit longer. Did you notice a big difference?

That is a very good point about other manufacturers. This probably could have just as easily happened with any other make. We are putting this behind us and ultimately once time passes all this has really done is make me look at all options instead of only Ford when shopping for a new car.
