I think the EB I rented had the same problem, there was a rubbing/squeaking noise coming from the passenger side door when opening, but it wasn't metal to metal rubbing.
Also is the bubbling in photo # 4 just water or is that paint bubbling? If the latter, ugh.
But then again, the new 5er has an option for "Leather Engine Cover". So... maybe they are further away from this slight shift than we are hoping they are
Agree. I have read enough of the Bimmerpost forums to realize enthusiasts think waaaaaay more of themselves than the automakers do - and rightly so, it's a fraction of a fraction of their overall market. If BMW were just to sharpen a couple aspects of their cars they might make the cost worth it...
And I get that to an extent - I did Performance Center Delivery on my F30 and I was able to bomb a 335i around that handling course they had set up for us and had no problem at all - but it did feel like part of my senses had been dulled. I can tell what the car is doing through the...
Exactly. I like to think the "F" in "F30" stands for "F"ocus Group. The 25 year old girls who had their rich parents buy them 3 series' complained the steering was too heavy to steer and hold their Frappucinos at the same time, so they softened it up. And what a mistake it has been for BMW AG -...
Probably. My Sport Line has all of the stuff your M-Sport has (M Sport is all cosmetic aside from brake pads) and it doesn't hold a candle to the driving experience of my E90. That car had a soul, this one doesn't.
Like I said though, the F30 is a great overall car - a backseat you...
I dunno, have you owned E46s or E90s? I have and when you have that as a benchmark it's tough to see straight.
It could also be programming. I have heard some folks that said they were able to get software updates that improved the steering, but my dealer is clueless and I've never been able...
It is pitiful. Not just from a weight point of view but mostly the feedback. It is absolutely lifeless - the S550 is somewhat heavier than the F30 (not Boxster heavy), but it has some life to it.
No lie, I had a Chrysler 200 rental (and not the new one; I mean the one that use to be a...
Plus. One.
Same feeling here. My F30 is a very nice car - if you don't know anything about cars. Very inoffensive but diddly squat from a drivers car level. The steering is just freaking laughably bad and I really wish I had picked up on that during the brief test drive I had before ordering...
I think I've already posted to this effect but I'm in the same boat here, my last 4 cars:
2005 BMW 325i ZSP
2012 Infiniti G37S
2007 BMW 335i ZSP
2012 BMW 328i Sport Line
And my next car on order is a Ford Freaking Mustang. I don't know how much it speaks to BMW going Camry-esque or...
Great choice going with X-Plan. In many states, other posters are right, better deals can be had by hard negotiating. But in Florida, the state with the most batshit insane "doc fees" in the entire country (typically upwards of $700), X-Plan's capping of those fees to no more than $100 is a huge...
Lol yep happens all the time. I have a business trip coming up this year to the original Melbourne, not sure I want to fly out of my local airport for that one... Melbourne to Melbourne... I can just see the luggage handling clusterf*ck that would come from that
Yeah that was the biggest thing I took out of test driving the V8... all the noise was up front, nothing out back. Think I may be going with the FRPP Touring Catback as the 2nd mod (after tint) :)
Thanks! Pretty excited. I actually rented an Ecoboost Premium for a few days to "live" with it and was very happy. Steering feel is way better than my F30 & handling was on par. Great interior too, way more solid than my F30. So other than the engine and some trim options I pretty much know what...
So I placed my order on the 6th and I have been trying to get the DORA and the dealer emailed me this morning and said nothing yet, but it should be available tomorrow. Does that sound right? No DORA until a week after ordering?
Well it's official, soon I will own my first American car. :D
My 328i lease is nearing its end and since BMW's only enthusiast cars have M badges now ($$$$$), S550 here I come. I stopped at my local dealer the other day and placed an X-Plan (MCA) order for a:
'15 GT Premium, Fastback, 401A...
