In the mid zone (around 4500-5000 rpm) it was nearly 50whp if I remember correctly. I considered the e85 route, but the extra tuning cost, plus the potential of new injectors pushed it too far out of reach.
All good points. Yes, I am trying to stay fairly close to the price point. I was shocked as hell when my wife allowed me to drop $700 to redo my stereo (which was waaaay worth it for my commute). Id prefer not to drop an additional $300 for the ASE install, but if Im loosing warranty either...
With the LMR dyno showing considerable gains across the board, and the various deals going out on it, is the new Power Pack 2 the best deal out there for a budget pick me up for our cars? Or, is it just that the respectable gains, plus warrant coverage make it the best bet? Id be interested in...
OEMRadio has a processor that he can use to reprogram the radio crossover points. I used Fosgate Pro 6.5" midwoofers in the door and rear deck, all bandpassed between 80hz-500hz and it sounds great.
Thank you for that. Searching the Ford catalog for the HM# didnt find any results. Do I have to buy it as a package or does anyone know a way to buy them individually?
I messed a few of the push retainer pins in my front passenger side wheel well while trying to run a power wire through the grommet. Can anyone confirm for me what the part number is for these? I believe its multiple sizes, but I cant find any descriptions on sizes for each location. The...
I know a couple of you guys have done this, and been pleased with the results. Everyone that I have seen has been bottom mounted through a speaker ring. Is there any issue (sound loss or rattling) with the speaker size being larger than the 6.5" mounting hole?
I went to Sound Werk on Davis Blvd and Crank it Up on Rufe Snow. I am sure they are great places, but they are a business, and they make money doing what we cant or dont want to do. Trust me, if I can do these upgrades myself, anyone can do them. Its just a matter or research and patience.
My amp came with high pass and low pass filters, but is very limited on the frequency restrictions. My alternative is to buy a crossover like this to limit the frequency range of my mids. Once I set the crossover up, then connect it to the amp, do I just turn the high pass filters off on the...
I used an MB Quart 800.4 amp. Channels 1/2 combine Infinity Reference tweeters with inline 4500hz crossover and Kicker KS 3 1/2s...all set to high pass around 600hz. Channels 3/4 are 6 1/2 midwoofers (two are Punch Pro, two are Power Acoustic), set to high pass around 100hz. It needs a...
For the record I would have gladly paid $350 for what I went through this weekend. My car sounds amazing, and I wouldnt give it back for the world, but my old ass is beaten up and bruised. If you want to do it, these boards will give you everything you need, but it was really a hard task for...
I never found it. I have a feeling its wrapped up in the black wire wrapping that Ford used in the door. I would assume that you could cut the tweeter wire in the A pillar and run new wire down to the floor board, where it meets up with the wiring harness.
My 3.5s were Kicker were 1 5/8 top mount depth. No way they would have fit without reusing the bracket that is already in the car. Luckily, thats a pretty easy thing to do.
After having done this over the weekend, Ill leave you my 2 cents. I bough some RF 16 gauge bare wire to RCA plugs. Trying to solder those to the pins was like trying to push a fat girl into a doggy door. I ended up soldering the RF wires directly to the preamp wires down in the kick panel...
